Re: Classic Finns in the BFA
I must admit I do miss my sailing but I am committed to finishing my historic race car at the moment and it seems to take all my time and funds. Alan offered to let me use his boat for Roadford but again the meeting clashed with an event near home. I may pop along to the event near Lincoln just to k...

Re: Finn nationals
I read the thread with interest, I have now moved on from sailing and gone back to classic motorsport, strangely there are great similarities. With any type of classic the key thing is to enjoy it to the maximum, and as your enthusiasm is taken on by others they too join you and as with the Finns at...

Re: FD K9
Ah ha you have heard of my possible move to Brightlingsea David. Unfortunately, although I have been offered a very good job over there, it has all been put on hold whilst their senior management team is sorted out, so still in the west country for the time being. I must admit I was really impressed...

Re: FD K9
I'll be at Roadford as well, and I know I have some bits of FD somewhere in the garage that you are welcome to, I even have a couple of sets of continuous trapeze fittings somewhere I'm sure, but as others have said for your hull the standard set up would be best.

Re: Glass fibre deck repair
I can foresee a competition for who has the scruffiest boat becoming a feature of the future Classic Finn events, something like a concours in reverse.
But you should be aware Phil that Alan will work very hard to win this one......

Re: Finn questions
We use 1071 at Roadford, as do a few other clubs, if we let him use 1171 he will be going far too fast.......

Re: Finn questions
I am of unashamedly biased and would of course advise to go for the Finn. A Pearson like a classic Phantom will never be competitive in a modern fleet, but will give a good account for itself in the classic fleet which is one of the advantages we have with the Finns in that we sail alongside our mod...

Roadford Goodacre Cup
I am not wishing to try and drag people away from the Nationals, but if anyone is not wishing to travel to Bough Beech and is closer to Roadford do not forget that August Bank Holiday is the time for the Goodacre Cup with racing open to all throughout the weekend with a BBQ and cream tea thrown in. ...

Re: Insect control.
I'm sure we could be persuaded to host a Classic Singlehanded Open at Roadford at some time in the future if there was enough interest.
