Re: stainless steel keel band
Thanks for the replies everyone. I have decided to re-use the band I have. From doing some research I suspect the screws I took out were brass but should have been bronze. So what I save on not replacing the band I will invest in decent screws. Paul, my ent was £60 off eBay, including a combi traile...

stainless steel keel band
Having just spent a gruelling day trying to remove brass screws from my enterprise, I want to replace the brass keel band with a stainless steel one. However my boat has a piece of brass keel band that circles the centre board slot and holds the slot gasket in place. I have searched the net but have...

Dulux exterior gloss?
No doubt this has been covered somwhere but I cannot find a thread. I have been thinking about painting the hull of my enterprise with "normal" exterior gloss. My thinking is my window frames are out all year round in the sun, wind and rain, and they last 2 years minimum between re-paints....

Have taken some pictures. From what people are saying, it seems scarfing in patches is the best way forward!

wood fillers
The restoration of my 1974 Enterprise is going to have to be put on hold, due to finances. My idea is to make use of her in the meantime by just filling the cracks and holes in the hull and give her a fresh coat of paint and varnish. I hope this will at least maintain her condition until I am ready ...

Strippers (the paint removing kind! )
Hi, I know this topic has been well covered, but just saw a product called Peelaway on EBay. Has anyone used it? I have an Enterprise with several holes, I really want to completely strip the hull to see what needs doing. I have tried a heat gun, sander, paint panther (stripper from toolstation). It...

Enterprise restoration project
I have recently bought a wooden enterprise which has been badly neglected for a few years. Firstly I would like to find out her age, I know this can usually be found out on dinghy association websites, but doesn't seem to be the case for sailenterprise.org. Anyone know any other sites? Also I have s...
