Re: New sails...recommend a sailmaker?

+1 for R&J , he is still there and mended all the club cadet sails for me earlier this year, good job and reasonable price. 8)

Re: TV series coming soon

I have not had a chance to see any of these yet, overseas and BBC iPlayer does not let me view, so much for paying the licence fee! Does the episode on punts cover the development of the Norfolk Punt sailing dinghy from the gun punt? Nick. I heard from a friend who spends alot of time overseas work...

Re: Approach to bailer sealing

The super mini is easy to do........ The club Cadet fleet are fitted with them and always need my attention :( 1. Prise the wire handle off the bailer. 2. Bend the stainless tag that stops the bailer passing straight through the mounting plate inwards. 3. Push the bailer down through plate and remov...

Re: Cadet

I have a fair bit to do with Cadets: I think your best bet for finding a good home (if one is not forthcoming here) would be the for sale page on the Cadet class website.

Minisail

Now my crew/daughter has moved on to helming her own boats, I thought I might dabble in a cheap single hander and come to some CVRDA events. A minisail is being given serious consideration , as I see a few of you sail them (and they are cheap! ) . I have never sailed one ! , what are they lik...

Re: Cadet/General Bouyancy question

Anyone know if Celotex ( foam insulation with a foil backing) used in house building takes up water ?.

A mate who is a builder has some off cuts going begging, but not sure if it "soaks" up water over time. :?

Re: Cadet/General Bouyancy question

A mark 2 defo comes up full of water ! (big bucket needed to bail), side tanks would be ideal ( mk3 conv !) but no time to do as it is sailed every week. Rather than blow up bags , I might experiment with foam insulation cut to fit the available space, duct taped together and straped into the cadet ...

Cadet/General Bouyancy question

My daughters Mk2 wooden cadet ( front and rear tanks) holds a huge amount of water when dunked, I had wondered about straping a couple of bouyancy bags in the open spaces under the side decks. Plan being that the bags help fill up the big void under the side decks, that scoops up all the water when ...
