Recently a friend with a Laser 2000 (yes I know, not evan an old boat) found he could no longer get comprehensive new for old insurance. This because no-one can supply masts for Laser 2000 anymore!

When I was the same size Rupert is now, (28 years and 4 stone ago) I _loved_ sailing our school OK. That was a composite but was not hugely fast - another club member had a plastic OK with metal mast that I was very jealous of. I'd go for it Rupert if I were you - there is nothing more challenging o...

Hi; Rupert is absolutly right - you have to have a boat you can sail easily if you have tots with you. My tots (10, 8 and 5 now), saved up their pocket money and bought themselves a Mirror, and love sailing it together. And I enjoy sailing it to - with all three sails it is quite - entertaining - . ...

Wow! Zooks! Lots of people wanted it - its gone for 1071 quid - hugely expensive I think.

Thanks for your views Alan - space and pace is what I am looking for.

Hi;

has anuone here sailed a Mirror 16? As there is a nice looking (but very ugly) one on ebay right now. So what are they like to sail? And when were they built? I can not find anything about them using google, they dont seem to have a class association. So no one loves them, it seems.
