remember it is the bottom edge that does the cutting , so a cutting edge on the side does not do you much good.

Re: Removing brass stews from keel?
There are little hollow drills that work a little better than roll pins made by different companies there is Screw Go in Germany Un screw em., and screw extractor in the USA. they are all little left handed hole saws of varying diameters and lengths that use the old screw as a pilot to remove a plug...

Re: Old Proctor mast 'rivets'
You may have a style of rivet known as a " Cherry rivet" these were used in the aircraft industry to overcome the deficiencies of the pop rivet i.e. lack of shear strength. the rivet has a solid mandrel that pulls up through the rivet expanding it ,then shears off at the top of or slightly...

Derik,
I noticed your boat in another advert, it turns out you are only 16 miles from my house.
If you are interested I can come over and inspect your boat ,and give you an idea of it's condition.

Re: 1962 Wooden Racing Dinghy
Derik, That certainly looks like an older Albacore, I notice it has a CF hull registration and a California Licence plate on the trailer. I am resident in California The US Albacore association has a web page with a forum on here: http://usaa.albacore.org/forum There are several Yacht clubs in South...

Re: Torch Class
Back in the 1960s I did a national schools sailing association course in Cowes on the isle of Wight administered by Bert Keeble. One of the toys he had there was a cabin cruiser version of the Torch that I and several other instructor students sailed. Putting it mildly, it was even more "lardy&...

Carricraft of Cirencester
Back in the early 19 60s there was a company in Cirencester that made two dinghies, a 10'-0" and a 12'-0" I do not think the company lasted long , I owned one of the 10'-0" dinghies, the boats claim to fame, if you can call it that was that it had wooden topsides with a fiberglass bot...

Here is a link to the history of Chrysler marine <http://www.chrysler-marine.com/CBC.htm> You will note that the history of the sailing dinghy rates one paragraph in this. In the late 1970's I repaired several of these boats mostly Buccaneers with the odd Mutineer thrown in. The structure to say the...

Pictures in the attic
Well Guys, I am currently in the UK, however I have been too busy to contact anybody here. My father has moved into an old folks home, and I have been busy clearing his house, so it can be put on the market. In the attic I found 35 mm slides of Clywedog sailing club in the early days before the rese...

Re: Good finish using gell coat?
As someone who made a living refinishing fibreglass sailplanes that had to be done in gel-coat, I would recommend a good 2 part polyurethane unless you are a masochist. To do a good job with gel-coat most of the old finish has to come off until you can see the underlying glass-fibre. The new coat is...

Gentlemen,
by the lack of response to my question, I am getting the idea that ,nobody, cares to venture an opinion on the quality or reputation of this sailmaker.
