Isn't it very likely, though, that the subsequent boats would be heavily inspired by the only model they had to hand?

Re: Varnish removal
Is it actually necessary to remove it? If at all possible the paint companies recommend sanding nack, not removal.

Re: Quiz ANSWERS
But technically that wasn't *Brunel's* Great Western Railway... Neyland was the South Wales Railway, which wasn't amalgamated with the Great Western until after Brunel died...

Re: Seastar??????? On Facebook
I don't have access to that Facebook group, but as I recall the Dodnor Seastar was built by/for a Sailing School on the Isle of Wight where I spent a few weeks working in my youth before I realised that working in sailing schools was ... not what I needed to do... My recollection is that it was not ...

Could you point me at that please? I've been updating the Chris Gittins Decked Canoe archive on the website and inevitably read most of it, and gained an appreciation of how important Herr Thorell was.

Conventionally it would have been just a toggle that fitted through the hole and was then rotated 90 degrees.

Difficult to think of anything that would remove salt more effectively than plain freshwater without soap.

Eposeal 300
I need about 100ml of eposeal 300 for a musical instrument project, and my supply is (very) life expired and discoloured. I really don't want to shell out 30 quid for a litre, 90% of which will probably sit on the shelf until its unusable (waste in so many senses!), so I'm wondering if anyone in the...

Re: One Design from Cornwall??
Grief, there were so many local one designs. My old PY list has St Mawes, Starcross, North Devon, Teign Corinthian from that part of the world and that's just ones with regional names and published PY numbers.... You could try trekking round clubs and buying the oldest members a drink I suppose.

Re: Who built my boat?
The class rules specify the number should be either on the transom or the hog, although I think transom was more usual. I have no recollection of seeing one on the hog. By the 70s Smallcraft were I think the only builder. A 4 digit number starting with 3 on a wooden boat is a surprise: I have no gue...

Re: Gull Mk2 foredeck canvas
Thanks Jim. I'll give it some thought. Did you ever sail a Gull with the mast in the forward position? I am mostly single handed and wonder if it is worth a try. Was there much difference between Bermuda rig and gunter rig? I have sailed with the mast forward, but don't recall much about it. It was...
