Get thee behind me, Michael! I have a very dead I14 to rebuild...
The danger is past... price £310 with two days to go - safely out of my price bracket for something I certainly don't "need"...

Re: Rowing Skiff. A real classic.
Ooooh! VERY nice. Looks like the classic barn find. Trailers for heavy 24ft boats are not so common... idly wondering what would happen if one sat it on an IC combi trailer (the one I have is certainly heavy enough!) Suspect we will be put out of our misery by a professional buyer from one of the Th...

Re: Beautiful Fairey Duckling for sale
Ian,
Thanks, I will call tomorrow.
The Apollo Duck advert says Exmouth... I could put her on our Firefly combi trailer if her launch trolley can come to pieces.

Re: Beautiful Fairey Duckling for sale
I REALLY should not be doing this, espescially as I built a very nice Nutshell 9ft stem dinghy 20 years ago, but I do have a dreadful weakness for Uffa Fox dinghies...
She's lovely.
Is she still for sale and what does she weigh?

Re: Please help me get out of a dither
Happy to exhange notes, Chris! To do a proper job I think one would have to make a "building form", as used by Uffa in the first place. I'm sure we've all seen pictures of his technique, but anyway this link might show it: https://sites.google.com/site/cbtmuseum/photographic/uffa-fox-s-col...

Re: Please help me get out of a dither
It is an expensive varnish substitute, a very flexible moisture curing polyurethane, originally made I think as a sealer for concrete floors in the building trade. It is completely clear but the primer, which contains the anti-UV stuff, comes in yellow, red or brown (called "spruce", "...

Re: Please help me get out of a dither
Thanks Rupert. I see her future as an everyday sort of boat, really - we are a long way from any I14 vintage fleet and I see her as a stylish way to go round the cans at the club (handicap to be discussed...) That way she would get sailed more. Would I be accused of vandalism? One decision already m...

Please help me get out of a dither
The time has come to get started on the mortal remains of K377, Mercury, an Uffa Fox 14 from 1937. I use the term "mortal remains" advisedly; twenty years in a hedge did nothing for her and any rebuild will with luck conserve the transom and the hog, centrecase and stem and perhaps a few s...

Re: Seagull outboard; never used!!!
I need another Seagull like a hole in the head but which model is it and what is the serial number?
(you have probably thought of this but I expect John at SOS would be interested in an unused one)

Is this an Uffa King?
Seen and snapped at Wm King and Sons' yard at Pin Mill last Thursday evening (with a Blackberry at 8.30 pm hence the grotty images...) http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee352/acraigbennett/utf-8BSU1HMDA1MjctMjAxMjA2MTQtMjAyNS5qcGc.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee352/acraigbennett/utf-8BSU1...
