Re: Finn Wooden Mast Rigging
Yves Louis Pinaud, sailing from start to finish, is a good book with lots of pictures of Finn's with wooden masts. Lots of copies around.

Re: Fitting New Gunwhale for GRP Heron
Last year we did a similar job on a grp wayfarer. Made up the gunwale and epoxied it on. No fixing used, but a lot of tape, ropes, wedges and clamps. Do a dry run first.

Re: Swallows and Amazons.
About 4 yrs ago there was a glass hulled wood deck plus in very poor condition in the carpark at the top of the tidal rd in Aveton Gifford, Devon. I was very suprised to find a composite one. I suspect it has been broken up as it was with several other dead boats.

Re: International Canoe K89? Back on ebay.
I'd very much like this boat and am just up the road in Totnes. I can't afford the price at the moment, but I've made him an offer if it does not sell.
I haven't sailed ICs since the early 80s and it would be nice to relive my mis-spent youth......

Re: Uffa Fox Flying twelve wanted
I came across one of the smaller Flying sizes on Eel Pie island London in 1982 or maybe 3, I thought it was a 10 but never measured it. In poor condition then.

Rotating mast to move on
I've been digging around and found a rotating mast to move on. Dimensions are: Total lenght 507cm, heel to gooseneck 53cm, gooseneck to top of sail track 453cm. Mast is sealed, un tapered, external halyards. It has all the running rigging and two side stays, I assume the eye above the hounds was for...

Merlin 1453
Hi,
Merlin 1453 is currently rotting on the foreshore at Shaldon Devon south of Teignmouth, looks like it would still be a good restoration. Can you tell me what type it is?

Re: Ironic innit
My neighbour has taken to keeping his 27 ft yacht afloat all the time apart from routine maintenance. The reason is that the water around the hull moderated the internal temp and it gets far less condensation inside that when it was stuck up on jacks at the local yard. Money was not the reason. So m...

Does it have to be warm? Maybe just frost free?
