Re: Xmas Advent Calendar- Guess the Boat
Well it reminds me of my old cherub...with the 9ft long spin pole stowed along the boom it used to be longer than its 12ft length.

Re: Classic Finn Nationals
As the owner of the old Pearson, I can confirm that the boat was quick enough, but the nut holding the rudder was defective! The best sailors were at the top of the leader board!

Re: Help! Classic Finns now at Netley!
...they aren't just great boats, they attract great sponsors. At this weekends Finn Inlands at Roadford, Brookesy got a local pasty company to provide on the water snacks for all the competitors. (and very nice they were too)

Re: Never seen one of these before. Lost Class or no class?
The one at Wimbleball was blue (if I remember correctly). Two mast positions ment that like old 420's they could sail with a crew and jib, or with the mast in the forward position, as a singlehander. I did have some more info about them years ago but probably long gone now.

Re: cherub at Hunts
I used to own Cherub 2333 and I always enjoyed the look on the face of the helm of any boat ducking my stern ... as they realised the 9ft long spin. pole (which stowed along the boom) over hung the stern by a good 3 ft.
of course the same boat would probably sink if I got into it now...

Re: Sailmaking - A Black Art?
There are also various "how to" video series on youtube talking you through the making of sails.
Well worth a watch...even if just to "de-mistify" the whole process.

Re: Handicap tweaks
Personally I would like to see the handicap adjusted to reward genuinely period sails, a modern sail makes a significant difference compared to a 30 year old version! ref: DavidH - if the boat had Mylar sails "back in the day", I think we should be allowing them now - especially if they ar...

Alan, if it wouldn't take you out of your way then I would appreciate some additional photos and an opinion on general state and state of floor boards etc. I'm waiting to hear from the seller on some additional questions too.
