We had one of these - I learned to sail on it, tethered to the shore at Sampsons Bay, near Portmadoc. As you can see from the picture, it had a very fine entry, and was much quicker than it should have been, largely due to the small amount of wood(weight) in the design. And with no decks you had to ...

My old I.14 had just a wooden block as a mast step. Over 40 odd years this had eroded to a vague hole in which the mast heel sat ( and wriggled around at will). I got two thicknesses of s/s plate and cut a mast step sized hole in them, and then screwed them over the wooden base. Works very well. If ...

Reminds me of a Lark that used to sail on the circuit some years ago, It had LRAK on one side of the sail.

But yes, that's another fine m.... masterpiece you've gotten us into.

Nick

Knew I had a reference to them somewhere - Charles Smith has the Barracuda lsited on his tradboat site, under sail markings. No other information, though.

It's a Barracuda. Don't know much about them, but that's what it is. It won't be heading to Frensham.

Yes, I spoke to Myron on Saturday, and told him you were trying to contact him. He went on holiday Saturday immediately after the race at Frensham, so I think you won't hear anything until this Satursday at the earliest.

Not deep enough for a Seafire, tho'I can see the resemblance. I still go for the butchered Phantom. Some boats, Daring was one, came with a choice of centreboard or daggerboard. I know the Phantom didn't, but that doesn't mean someone didn't decide to alter the design.

Thanks for all your responses. I changed from Noble to Bishop Skinner, for a substantial saving on both fully comp, and third party only

We keep losing kill cords. I know you can get cords with all three or four differnt keys on, but I don't know where to get them. None of the chandlers, like P&B or Speed Sails seem to stock them.

Help anyone ??

Most of mine are earlier than that, because I went to sea in 1961 and stopped getting them. Any since I have picked up in junk shops and the like. So 1965 is perfect. Have you some you don't want ? I'm happy to have duplicates.

I agree it has to be plastic. At Frensham we target any old plastic GP.s. We need them as training boats, so it's rare that any come up for sale. Having said that you could give John Traylor a ring. He is Class Captain for the GP's there, and is on 01276 474534.
