help with boat ID

Can anyone help identify this boat? 14 ft, located in Canada (in case it's a weird colonial boat).

thanks

osprey?

Is this an osprey? Not sure I have the space for another big boat but it's local and it's not too expensive http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt213/rlmungo/junk/_20-2.jpg http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt213/rlmungo/junk/_20-4.jpg http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt213/rlmungo/junk/_20-3.jpg ...

Re: Stern sheeted jollyboat

I wish I had the boom bits to complete the roller reefing. I gather not very effective but still would be nice to reincarnate. Having never seen the boom I don't know what they even look like.

Re: Stern sheeted jollyboat

For those who have followed my painfully slow introduction into wood boats. It's almost complete. It has a deck, a substantial challenge. The only new wood is the deck (and not very attractive ply regretfully, but all that was available), the cheek plates, a new stern deck beam and the top of the tr...

Re: Stern sheeted jollyboat

Thanks all. Looking at the transom in one of the pics, there are the holes... Thanks Ed. I'll drill it from inside the boat and search my screw cache for a long thin bolt. The wider holes are screws that support the inner gunwales.

Stern sheeted jollyboat

Can anyone help with how the traveller (I am not good with the names of boat bits) is attached on a jollyboat. There are two holes through the legs (arms?) that insert into the transom, and there are two holes that align in the inside of the transom. It looks like there might be a nut inside the tra...

Re: Clear penetrating epoxy sealer

I used S1 sealer from system three on the jollyboat http://www.systemthree.com/store/pc/S-1-Sealer-c32.htm . I sealed a piece of marine ply with 3 coats then cut it with a saw to gauge penetration. It doesn't penetrate very far, certainly not 0.25 mm (maybe 1/10th that?) on good firm wood. It cannot...

Re: Naive question

Ok..... .?? That's a lot of adjustable things... I hear the beer store calling me. Maybe I'll pm you and spare everyone else... I'm feeling decidedly intimidated by string. No wonder the colonies embraced canoes (the paddling type) Any simple websites on how a boat works? I have really dumb question...

Re: My baby got her booty back

I did have a plan once to leave her outside Nessa's house, ring the bell and run....

I have to say without the decks the boat was despairingly fragile. With decks back on it is much more solid, there is hope. I sure wish I knew what I was doing....

Re: Naive question

Thanks Is there some bit that fits on the rail? This is probably really stupid but why have a rail? Why not a simple pulley or whatever you call a wheel like thing.... Is it important to move fore aft? The jib sheet is similar is it simple ergonomics, angles etc? Sorry to be his dumb, just wondering...

Naive question

Can anyone help me with identifying boat bits please? I'm not a person who sails so .... In the pics below what are the long T shaped rails used for ? What goes on the rail ? They are more sternward (?) than the jib sheet cheek plates, behind a cleat, they are made from tufnol ? They are well mounte...

My baby got her booty back

Or so my teenage daughter would say Couple deck panels on the jolly boat http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt213/rlmungo/56fedb7373492f0b844d95121acec1c5.jpg . I still am unimpressed with the wood, kind of baby poop tiger vomit... http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt213/rlmungo/d3fe10a1a4be527eef3...

Re: Ply for Albacore hull repair

Kind of late into this... I think if the wood is similar the colours seem to blend in well with time, even after being finished. My repairs were done with Agba that I gather was original from Fairey (Garry sent it to me). It was very light compared to what was on my boat. The repair when first done ...
