Re: Luff Groove on Wooden Mast
Would it be OK to use a pressure washer on wooden mast to clear off all the muck . If so , Would it be better on low power ?
Good idea about the dowel , Thanks .

Re: Wayfarer ?
Just looked at your photos, and I think the "stuck in mud" was an old fishing boat I had called "Lucky choice" about 19-20ft with single cylinder diesel and pot hauler. Lovely dep lines and sea kindly hull, slow but sure. Did you notice the name? Naa , Too much mud for that . My...

Luff Groove on Wooden Mast
The Luff groove on my wooden mast is full of debris and old varnish . Most of it will probably come out with a stiff pipe brush . Any suggestions to remove the old varnish and remaining debris . The Honeysuckle came out with a bit of a battle

Re: Tarpon
GarryR . The luff groove is full of general debris plus old varnish , One piece of Honeysuckle made its home in it . The main stuff I could probably get out with a stiff pipe brush . Seeing as we have identified the boat , I will start a new thread in a more suitable location later .

Judging by the lack of colour Pics , It looks a bit Swallows and Amazons only home built .

NOT recommended for racing ( Too slow ) . If anyone knows different , Please let me know , I was'nt going...

Re: Wayfarer ?
"If you brought this boat believing it to be a Wayfarer ask for your money back. " At the price I paid for this . Its not worth taking back . I can always convert to an open fishing boat and get my money back selling the sails and extras .

It may not even be a wayfarer as the hull seems right but there is no rear deck and it came with Pegasus sails ( No. 72 ) and a wooden mast . As soon as the rain clears u...
