Re: Minisail class association
Hi
She's this one of Ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI. ... SA:GB:3160
The identification grapic on the Minisail makes her a pre-62 Sprite 1

Re: Minisail class association
Hi Excuse my jumping into this thread. I've just bought the wooden Minisail off of Ebay. Picked it up today and its in really great condition. But it appears to be hull No 7!. Are any of the 6 older ones about or am I jumping the gun here. I need a sail for it though so any suggestions about where t...

Re: wooden m/s on the bay
Hi I've bought this and just picked it up today. It looks in great condition and joins my expanding collection of old toot! Interestingly it has a number stamped into the transome, No 7. It couldn't be that old surely? The MS site says that Plycraft stopped making these in 1962 so its the same age a...

Minisail Sail
Hi
I'm looking for a sail for a Minisail, just bought it off Ebay but have yet to pick it up.
Looks like an early 60's Sprite 1.
Anyway, it needs a sail so if anybody has one for sail/swap/whatever please let me know.
Cheers

Re: Merlin 1754
Hi Andrew
Is the hull in good condition?
I bought an old Merlin but I'm afraid the whole thing is rotten through, but this means I do have all the rigging! I like the look of this one.
Cheers

Redecking
Hi All Advice on redecking please. I had it firmly in mind that i would be replacing the decks on my N12 by attaching them to the boat, routering round the edges and then attaching the gunwhales. However, i see that the Boatyard at Beer are doing up an N12 and they have the gunwhales on before the d...

Re: Tool review Thread
Hi Kev Similar to the above, taking varnish off the inside of a 1965 N12, I've been going great guns with hand scrapers but I have a natural lazy streak so if there is an easier way that works........ I hate heat guns, stripper and the scraper if far faster than sanding, I think the electric tool th...

Have you tried the scraper attachment? I could really do with a proper high speed scraper tool!

Re: Guidance and encouragement needed!
As sanding and scraping have progressed I have now found a crack through one of the planks. Looks like it has hit a rock or similat. Long crack on the outside and splintered scab on the inside. 075.jpg I'm hoping that I can soak this in Epoxy and fix it that way? It is beyond my abilities to replace...

Guidance and encouragement needed!
Hi I'm working on my old National 12 a 1965 Starfish. This is what i started off with n2262_1_1594.jpg n2262_1_1594.jpg I've pulled off the decks and gunwales and various thwarts and got excited about scraping and sanding. I'm also removing the rear tanks. 006 (2).jpg But now I've hit two snags.

Gunwhales material?
Hi I'm in the process of re-decking my early 60's National 12. I'm just about to pull off the gunwhales but will need to source replacements. Any suggestions for suitable wood to be used and a source of supply? Ideally I'd like one piece for each side and I'm happy to take plain strips of timber and...
