Vagabond 61 for sale

With much deliberation I have decided to put Vagabond 61 up for sale. She will now not get much use as my better half is expecting! I have just purchased an OK no. 1745 to keep me afloat in the meantime. A beautiful 1970's build which has spent much of her youth in a barn so is extremely solid. Any ...

Re: Holt Tideway race

Great afternoon on the Thames even though not much wind. Poor vagabond is staying the night in a recovery compound on the m62!! 15 miles from home and yet another puncture, but this time the axle also snapped. Not good at 70mph!!! Luckily I keep buying boats from eBay so have a spare trailer so will...

Re: Holt Tideway race

Yes, I saw that. I have the original anchor for vagabond, just need a 20ft line.
The rudder is now secured, so I won't lose it this time !!

Should be a memorable day plus a great photo opportunity.

Btw. Just set up www.jackholtvagabond.co.uk so should gain more interest for future events.

Re: Holt Tideway race

Does anyone know of any local accommodation at reasonable rates? The wraysbury trip was knocking on 7 hours so it means a very early start on Sunday morning or late arrival on Saturday after I finish work, probably arrive in London at 11pm. I'll do my best to attend, Seems like a once in a lifetime ...

Merlin 1443 with red sails

I just couldn't resist this one so had to buy it. All wood varnished with bright red sails It was advertised as a Mk IX but on further enquiries with the MR assoc it is possibly a Mk XII Proctor design, built in 1962 by Wych and Coppock in Nottingham. At that time she was named Snark 11 and was owne...

Re: Where can I get wire shrouds made up for a Vagabond ding

Hi there rusty, There are plenty of sellers on eBay who will make them up for you. A full set for no.61 cost approx £30. Any info on your vagabond would be appreciated as I'm collating a register of all owners. So far I have contacted a total of 9 owners, 7 of whom are in the uk, 1 in Australia and ...

Re: Clywedog

Had a great time, sporting a few facial scars from Luke's kicker on his merlin but great weekend all round. Thank you. Will be back next year. Shame vagabond only got a short sail on sat but good to meet lots of great people.
