Re: Rope halyards.
Thanks for replies. The rig I think is bermudan sloop. I have seen these cleats used for kicker on Toppers, these should work really well. Yes Rupert it is a Tinker Traveller, I hope to use it on the sea. Well if its a sloop then should you not use the jib halyard to tension the Rig, The forestay i...

Re: Un-electroplating?
Hi Defeated by the electrochemical series. I would suggesst that you now stop trying to deplate as you will be removing the copper from the bronze not the Nickel or chrom due to it being move reactive. Only solution I would have thought is to rub it down with emery cloth. Cheers Al Yea, Thats what ...

Re: Rope halyards.
Assume its a Cat rig? Id have the shrouds spliced to the rings rather than knots. Then As Rupert says then use the forestay to tension it. I think Keven Butler rigging do the Laser like cleat tensioner for not much money. this sorts thing http://kbruk.vpweb.co.uk/apps/webstore/products/show/4290605 ...

Un-electroplating?
Anyone had any luck at this? Trying to remove what looks like chrome plate from a bronze rudder pintle. Roger kindly gave me a rudder pintle for the GP, but its chrome or maybe nickel plated. Tried every household acid cleaning solution I could find to no success. Had a great idea to un-plate it, so...

Ed,
What bits do you need for the T3. I have some old Guzzi bits kicking about.

Re: miracle rubbing strip
Rubbing strip is fine. No hard and fact rules as long as the dimensions are in, she should be in class. Mahogony normally. Oak may not be so easy to bend to shape. Sure it possible if you try hard enough..
Quite few threads on here about fitting them so try search.
