Re: Two Mystery Dutch boats
Until recently we had a very nice dinghy in our boat park which I'm told was a Dutch class - sail had three (?) chain links on the sail and it looked rather like a bigger version of an Enterprise. When it first appeared it was in the most beautiful condition and it looked great out on the water - th...

Laser Fun New Wave
Hi All, A while ago, a mate and I became owner's of a Laser Fun New Wave - for those of you not familiar with this boat, it's basically a Laser 2 with a slightly different mast and a 13.5m2 genneker flown from a deck mounted extending pole. I've contacted Laser to get some idea of how many were made...

Re: A Bandit on Ebay
It's a lovely looking craft but I should imagine that it would be pretty heavy to pull up a slipway ?

Re: East Anglian film archive
Thanks for posting this - the film of the punt racing at Maninngtree was fascinating. Do you know whether this still takes place anywhere? Robert There's not much dinghy sailing at Stour SC anymore - it's a lovely pace to sail and I crewed for a mate of mine there at this years Regatta. The sailing...

Re: Formica type material
Another vote here for 'Plasticard' from your local model shop ......not sure if it's appropriate for your centreboard issue, but when I rebuilt the rudder assembly for my Supergrad it was used to replace a couple of well worn packing pieces (to stop the blade from wobbling about). Available in both ...

Re: Harrier sail
Keith Callaghan who designed the Harrier is currently sailing his latest design, the Hadron, in the 'Winter series' at Alton Water, he's got his contact details on his website if you want to quiz him: http://www.bluelightning.co.uk/profile.htm or PM me a message and I'll ask him next week, Cheers, N...

Re: Sail for a Beachcomber
The boat abandoned in our boat park appears to be bigger than that (I'll have a measure at the weekend) - the logo on the mystery Ebay boat could well be that of a 'Seabat' (thanks Nessa) and the Seabat's hull is a very similar in shape to that of a Beachcomber: Here's a Seabat, albeit with a topper...

Brilliant ! Thanks for that ........shame it's so far away ! So, any idea what that sail logo is supposed to represent (looks a bit like a pigeon - lol)

Sail for a Beachcomber
Hi Folks, Probably a very silly question, but no harm in trying ........has anyone got a sail for a bermudan rigged Beachcomber - or whatever it's called ? (possibly a skiffsail ?) I'm not worried about condition because I just want to use it as a pattern to get one made up by a local sail maker. Th...

Re: Advice required - Slot Gasket fitting
Hi Folks, I've located Mike McNamara's article - it's very good and confirms what I initially thought about the method of fixing: http://www.wayfarer-international.org/WIT/maint.repair.ref/CB.rudder/Slot.Gaskets/MikeonGaskets1.PDF He seems to favour the same 5mm overlap over the whole length of the ...

Advice required - Slot Gasket fitting
Hi Folks, I've purchased some sail cloth slot gasket to replace the rather aged rubber gasket that's currently fitted to our Supergrad: http://www.cygnus-sails.com/item-Slot_Gasket_Width_45mm.html I was told that it would be an improvement over the rubber and I understand the basics of how to fit it...

Re: Hunts Open 17th September
Hi Folks, Well my first ever CVRDA event was a bit of a 'baptism of fire'......the only sort of weather that we didn't have was hail and snow. I've no idea how strong some of those gusts were, but at one stage our little Graduate appeared to be planing upwind. Lovely to meet up with a few people and...

Re: Is this a Minisail ?
Thanks very much for your help .......I'd never heard of a Beachcomber before so that explains why it wasn't on my radar ! I think this one would have worn the Bermudan 'Uno' rig looking at the spars. I'm assuming that there aren't many about because it's hard to find much about them on the 'interwe...

Is this a Minisail ?
Hi Folks, The boat below appears to have been abandoned in our boat park - there's no sail and the rudder and centreboard are missing although the spars appear to be present. Is it a Minisail (...a Monaco perhaps ?). It doesn't look as if it's been painted and the gelcoat looks in really good condit...
