In the late 50's early 60's Colonel Wingate had a Hamble Star on a mooring opposite our houseboat on the Adur at Shoreham- by Sea. Lovely pics, Hornet 610 had a great weekend, our first CVRDA event. It was sailing like the old days, do a race , screw the boat back together, have a beer , repeat the process. we were surprised to be the only? wooden mast. Thanks to all at CVRDA and Bough Beech for an enjoyable weekend.

The original builder is getting rid of Hornet 1478. Gluing wooden mast
We have split the wooden mast for the 1959 Hornet. It came apart cleanly except where there had been some attempts to put later glue in. I understand that a good way of clamping it is to use strips of inner tube. Is this wrapped round in a continuous spiral or in sections? Also what glue is suggeste...
