Re: Historic PY numbers
I'm sure in the 80s Yachts and Yachting did a class guide every year, which included such things as PY. Not sure how far back this went, but presumably tracking down the appropriate copies of Y&Y might be easier than official lists from way back when?

While we're on the subject, I'm now the proud owner of Europa Moth K2588, having bought it from Sami earlier today.

Re: National 12 - design?
Is it based on the Chapter? What was the design philosophy? Did they go reasonably well?

Re: I14 K869 Agamemnon
Sorry to hijack the thread, but as it's something of a dream to own a classic 14 but somewhat impractical in terms of sailing one, an alternative 12 rig is an interesting option.

Re: Sprog
My first thought was that it looked rather Snipe-ish. My second thought was that you'd need a crew and helmsman who got on rather well, given the size of that cockpit

Thanks. Interesting, I could have sworn I could see another chine on the side on image. Bit late number for a Baggy isn't it? Mine was N3342, and that was lateish.stuw wrote:It's an amateur built Baggy Trousers designed by Rob Peebles, number N3434 I believe

National 12 - design?
Interesting looking N12 on eBay. It's a four-planker, single floor. No mention of a sail number or a design on the page. The shape looks Mike Jackson-ish to me - a Cheshire Cat or perhaps a Tiger, with that tall stem and high foredeck but that radiused transom makes judging the shape of the stern a ...

Re: probably really easy but....
Is it an old Snipe? The transom looks distinctly Snipey, and the overall shape seems to fit as far as I can tell from those photos. Correction. No way is that a Snipe. I misinterpreted the transom pic thinking it had a much deeper V whereas it is actually really boxy. Odd shaped thing overall. Just ...
