Re: Metal Boom for a Gull

Hi Alan,

I might have a brand new boom at home that would suit a Gull.

I'll measure it tonight if you are interested?

Re: Carbon mast, booms etc

finally managed to take a look at the mast at the weekend, mast thickness looks to be 2-3mm (measured where the main halyard enters near the foot.)

Mast is now in Lymington. Will be on ebay soon if nobody here wants it.

Re: Carbon mast, booms etc

Haven't got the mast here so not entirely sure Jim, I may have measured it before so will check tonight, if not I won't be able to for a few weeks unfortunately, would need to take the mast foot off too I guess.

Re: Carbon mast, booms etc

Hi all,

These are still all available. are you still interested in the mast Godfrey?

Also have a selection of rudder stocks which I'll be clearing out in the next few weeks, let me know if anyone is after anything in particular.

Foil building

I'm looking to build a new rudder blade for my firefly, does anyone have any tips or links to good guides?

I assume that ply won't be strong enough so will need to laminate up some planks, any suggestions on good woods to choose?

Any help much appreciated! :D

Re: Self Bailers, Buoyancy Bags and Firefly spares

Hi Rupert,

Many thanks for your kind offer, would love to take those off your hands. Sure I'll be able to make them useable, better than the non existant bags currently on the boat either way!

Will send you a PM later.

Unfortunately I don't know of any spare sails at the moment Chris, will bear you in mind if I hear of any though.

That sounds great Rupert, appreciate you taking a look.

Self Bailers, Buoyancy Bags and Firefly spares

Hi everyone, I'm currently refurbishing an old GRP firefly and am looking for a few spares. In need of a couple of self bailers, ideally Anderson style ones but anything would be fine; the current ones let in far more water than they let out! Also missing a rear buoyancy bag and would be interested ...

Many thanks for all the responses and all your kind offers :) Pat, the lark sounds amazing, I'll speak to the rest of the committee and get in touch with you. Where abouts are you Obscured by clouds? If we do end up getting a few larks together we will no doubt need all the spares we can get so that...

Abandoned dinghies etc

Hi everyone, This is a slightly strange wanted ad but thought that you might be the ideal people to be able to help. I'm the president of the Bournemouth University Sailing Club, we're a relatively new club and in the last 2 years have grown subtantially. This year so far we have introduced over 40 ...
