Yes please, Dean, Frans and me would like to attend.
Ferryticket booked and if all goes well the European leg of the Minisail group should show up with three men and their Minisails, one car and one tent.

Re: Staunton Harold in June
It was a fine event, thank you Jane and Peter for organizing it and taking well care of us.
Not to forget all the CVRDA attendees for comforting three confused Europeans arriving on that special gray Friday (in a car with a Belgian license plate).

Re: Bleaching wooden hull
"Reduces Iron-oxide into pure Iron"... That explains why the stains in sailcloth I nicely remove with Oxalic acid always just re-appear after a while; There is iron residue left in the fibre that turns brown again.

Re: Minisail slightly odd .....or maybe not?
They all are members of the Minisail family. A Minisprint for example is a Minisail Sprint. On the Minisail website there is a page explaining the various variants. Minisail examples Retrofitting a sliding seat to any Minisail hull is possible (except for a Minisail Sprint II, there the seat is an i...
Re: Trophies
Before leaving Hunts last year I handed over the "furthest travelled" trophy to Kathryn knowing I wouldn't make it to Clywedog 2014 and it would be in safe hands. In safe hands it is, thank you Whelan family. The Wingnut however might be lost . It's a far to practical object to hand over I...

Could it be this one: Flying Sailor
Else if you look for specific German dinghies, it helps to add the word "schwertjolle" in the search (that's daggerboad -or centerboard- dinghy in German)

Re: Minisail National Championships Sat 5th and Sun 6th July
It's bound to become an excellent event. Can't wait to be along that many Minisails lining up at the starting grid Sunday morning and join a genuine class race. On the off topic theme: bought two boats recently and have parted at the same time with three, maybe four. Leaving me with three to four wo...

Re: Merlin Rocket Proctor XVI MR1711
Merlin Rocket 1711 "Fearless" went to a good home all right. The boat along with it's new owner were star of the weekend at Carnac 2014.

Re: Minisail Solent Spring Sail
Count me in for the Solent Spring cruise.
Spring cruise. . . Makes me want to strap a picnic basket on the hood of the wooden Sprite, plenty of space there.
Depending the weather I'll bring the original or the replica.

Re: Mast and boom ID
Not that it matters a lot but there were two Minisail variants called Minisprint. The Sprint with a moulding for the seat cutting the boat in half is a Sprint MII, the GRP - cockpit (A Monaco really)- tracked boom Minisail was called a Sprint MI, often sailed with a bolted on fixed or sliding seat. ...

Re: The start of a new Frankenboat project...
They take a bit of getting used to That's a witty understatement. I went out for the first time with my seat mounted 14 days ago. It was fine, well there was hardly any wind. ( some images over here ) Went out for a second time last Sunday -blowing really strong-and it was the beginning of a huge l...
