Re: Is this a Heron?

as others have said i suspect the boat in the advert is a GP

but the Heron being a Holt design and contemporaryish to the GP and pre dating the Mirror - but closer in size to the Mirror - does look rather similar

Re: Merlin Rocket 2112 History

It sounds like you've got a kicker lever there, perhaps a home-made one. quite probably ... they are deeply untrendy at present so can't easily find a picture to link ... they've been deeply un trendy for 25 - 30 years ? in the early 90s it was all 16 :1 cascades for a lot of classes that permitted...

Re: Hello, Newbie here with an Enterprise :)

She does look VERY lovely! Just a small suggestion - as the Ent is deck stepped, I would suggest that you consider replacing the forestay tail with some non stretch rope, or with a bottle screw. Otherwise you can get a scary amount of mast movement in a seaway and . or strong wind. Enjoy your saili...

Re: Toestraps

Re: Bow tank for Enterprise

Please excuse me if this is a silly question (I am new to sailing) but is it worth putting a buoyancy bag inside the tank? My thinking is that if i where to capsize and i wasn't quick enough to right my boat, the tank may fill with water and like Michael said cause a nose dive? if the tank is fitte...

Re: Bow tank for Enterprise

bag bow tank ents are pigs if flooded there;s basically 2 ways of retro fitting a bow tank 1 way is combined with a re-deck the alternative the previously discussed two piece method adding a bow tank to an ent only puts one extra 'seam' into the boat as such bow tank and side bags was the default wa...

be careful what you wish for as the 50 N standard could fall foul of any future push for more safety ...

it;s a case of trying the different ones on the market on at least in the dry until you find one that suits you build and habitus

Re: Enterprise questions.

How do you use the traveller on the back of my enterprise ? Their is a track across top of transom with a bracket that can be moved from side to side, pulling a piece of string, this can be locked in position with clamcleats. Would you use this all the time even on a small pond ? I am assuming this...

in an National 12? yes

it is a dedicated racing boat , the thwart is there to brace the case not as a seat ...

if you want to have seats you buy a cruising or general purpose dinghy
