Re: another Zenith pops up!

Thanks for the offer of incorporating a reconstituted Zenith Nationals in the Whitefriars event this year Rupert, however my comments were rather tongue-in-cheek as there would need to be considerably increased interest in the class to make this worth while - I'd look a bit silly on my own! More ser...

Re: another Zenith pops up!

All this means the class is confirmed at the dizzy heights of a minimum of 6 boats (well about 5.75 if you consider the condition of Z81) - so more than a breeding pair... don't think I'll start trying to organise the first nationals in 15 years yet though! I am happy to offer a prize to anyone loca...

Re: The Lost Classes will Rule........beware

That's a bit of a find if DavidH's new boat is a Zenith - I hope so! There are very few left now, I know of 5 in total although I expect there could still be one or two in east Anglia which belonged to the last few people to run the ZCOA which fizzled out in the mid 90s. Coincidently someone posted ...

Zenith 81 - FREE to a good home - needs work

Zenith No.81 probably built in 1963 or 4 - Free to a good home, complete with rig and sails however hull needs quite a bit of work. Both my father and I have other Zeniths - this was a spare he aquired but unfortunatley I can't see either of us finding the time to try and sort it out and get it sail...

Re: Finn 475 for sale

Interesting comments on the D-one... out of reach from club sailors - I take it you mean just in terms of the type of water and courses most race on OR is it also that much more difficult to master than a Finn? Am just interested... I'm not thinking of geting one - I've had enough new toys for the t...

Re: Pimp My Finn

Ed, If you don't like the gunwales maybe you could remove the front 3 or 4 foot of them (like on my vanguard) and then paint the rest of them to match the hull - according to some of the Comet fleet at Severn SC my boat "looks evil/sinister" (I took it as a compliment!) - so that might be ...

Re: Various boats for sale

Hi Alan,

Thanks for your message. Have been chatting with Graham this weekend about his boats - in fact it was him who pointed me in the direction of the one Simon had.

See you at Roadford sometime soon...

Keith

Re: lost classes and handicap numbers - Zenith

Neil and Brookesy - Many thanks for your advice, Roadford sounds ideal so the Zenith will be arriving there in April!

Look forward to meeting you both then.

Best wishes,

Keith

Re: lost classes and handicap numbers - Zenith

I do seem to have opened up a can of worms here! Thanks everyone. Its great to have a much better idea of how the handicap translation should work, although i expect to be at the back of the fleet for a while so I suppose its not actually that important - lack of recent experience will be my main ha...
