We hope to also be arriving late Fri - can't leave Bath until 5p.m. Campsite sounds very laid back and as if there's plenty of space. But check anyway if you are planning to stay there.

We have also noted that the Merlin Rocket has got faster - PY1024 last year PY 1021 this year. Chris had to sail no 6 ISKA (a 60 year old boat) to it on Sunday!

Could you post all the details in plain english please as we haven't all gone through the registering rigmarole required to access the info on the club website (limitations of working for the government!) and I'd like to get it set up on the events page here asap.
Thanks

We're bringing the Merlin and staying the week, returning via the Vintage Merlin event on the Thames the following Saturday.
My grandparents and various relatives lived there so I'm keen to return and pleased it's the cvrda that's taking me back to my roots.

We'd go to Netley too as it's local so we could day trip but wouldn't go to Mayflower as there's no camping. That's probably a bigger factor for us than the sea/lake one. Just give us plenty of notice as the calendar is very full with vintage Merlin events until mid-September Weymouth can do parking...

At least the cancellation only leaves us a choice of four different events that weekend!

Weymouth may be worth contacting about a sea event - when we chatted after the Lark event last year they were keen to do more dinghy events. If it's good enough for the Olympics.....

We lost the winged screw and front plate on the M6 (motorway not mast section). At present we've robbed one of our Larks (only got 4 of them!) which has the same gooseneck but we are keeping an eye out for a spare, either full gooseneck or just screw and plate. It's a funny old British thread so we ...

One good supplier - the Boat Jumble. There was lots of that sort of thing and more at Beaulieu last weekend. Many more dinghy bits this year - though we couldn't find a Proctor sliding gooseneck to replace the one lost somewhere on the M6 at Easter - had to borrow off one of our Lark masts for Brist...

If you'd seen the Merlin Scottish event Sunday race you'd know it was a nutter's boat - you had to be nutters to go out and sail and survive in those conditions!!
