Stupid question of the year contender but where does it live? Please help a website-challenged, early fifties construction, IT dunce...I got a notification that there was a boat for sale in that section from a kind man and said to look in it for a Jollyboat ...but I can't find it on the forum or mai...

Re: FD K9
These days David is normally found out on a golf course somewhere! All of the comments here, in their own way, say something about David Hunt, who was always a keen innovator, sharp thinker and brilliant sailor. As Jim said, if you needed help, David would apply both his technical and 'fixer' skill...

Always amazed me how well these went...it looks chunky but performs, I wish I could say the same for myself!
Not for me but looks a nice example?

Cheap Merlin...?
http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/107097723/merlin-rocket-sailing-dinghy.html Apologies if this appears twice (I struggle with technology!)...it just looked cheap to my inexpert eye. I'll be passing on Friday if anyone wants me to cast a general eye over condition etc...not a MR expert but seen...

Re: Introductions
Hi - Andrew, based near Lowestoft Family moved to Hamble when I was 8, HRSC was in it's dinghy sailing prime and the Mirror was a brand new idea....crewed in a Hamble Star, Heron, RNSA dinghy, Merlins and National 12s plus the occasional ride in an Albacore..family bought an 8ft double skinned (almo...

Re: cotton JollyBoat main on the bay
Good news - the museum is bidding for the mainsail. With luck they will get it. They are in new premises in East Cowes with more space and the museum and gallery are close to each other. The museum has mast height though not enough for the Jollyboat. It sounds very worth a visit. I managed a very q...

Re: passing on Unit 2/7
Andrew............. Okay...if you can't close the deal on U2/7 then it just might be possible (but sadly I emphasis the 'might') that there could just be one other boat around...but I stress that my info is some time out of date as I had a year or so 'away' from the history scene. But in the meanti...

Re: passing on Unit 2/7
No...I'm here - at least in spirit! Okay - firstly, a bit of background for them wot don't know the whole story! The reason for the 'confusion' about the boat - is it Unit 2 or 7, goes right back to the beginning. Richard Creagh-Osborne wanted a Unit but always had boats with a number 7, so David T...

Re: passing on Unit 2/7
Is this still available? I've dreamed of finding a Unit since seeing David Thomas sailing Unitone (which to a 12/13 year old Hamble River SC Mirror helm was a very clever name) - he had made an ingenious sit-inside sliding seat frame from a couple of old Proctor booms and I'd even consider having a...
