Re: Hunts 2014

Thank you Nessa, I seem to have been appointed unofficial Moth event coordinator. The v informal survey suggested three events to see if a bit of a moth focus can be achieved. Hunts is an obvious and Together with Roadford and Banbury make a good geographic spread. I will post a notice shortly and p...

Re: Roadford Meeting to include Finn Classic Nationals Lowri

Thank you Alan, After an informal survey of interest we hope to give a bit of a moth focus to Roadford and Hunts and Banbury so as to offer a geographic spread. I am going to post a notice to this effect shortly. The idea is to be part of the Rally but to bring together Mothies with focus on those e...

Re: What kind of Moth is that?

She's beautiful do please try and bring her to one of the three CVRDA events that we want to give a bit of a moth focus to. These are (after some consultation and v informal survey of interest).....Hunts, Roadford and Banbury. The aim is to sail admire chat and race together as part of the rally. Ly...

Re: Aussie scow Moths ... Lots of them !

MOTH INSURANCE

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have a recommendation for a reasonable insurance company for a Moth.

Mention of the dreaded words International Moth and the premiums are sky high because of the expense of insuring those very technical flyers.

Cheers

Re: Wanted Magnum 8 or later

Hi Simon

Thanks for your vote and interest that makes it

Hunt SC. 3

Roadford. 3

Bilithfield. 2

More than one event. 2

I know there is concern that the chosen venue be as central as possible.

Cheers

Re: Wanted Magnum 8 or later

Hi Phil I have a Magnum 5 that is part restored and a Magnum 9.9 which is a very late Magnum narrow boat so if this event happens and I really hope it will I'll bring one or tother along for people to try out ( weather permitting) But do you have a venue preference ? Or would you be prepared to trav...

Re: 2014 events!

Hi all, I missed the first one too but for most of the way the river is wide with a famous horseshoe bend and open at least in parts to the west. But proper safety boat cover to tow if needed is essential. Personally I'd love to do it in a Moth. As soon as I can suggest dates i'll see what Baltic Wh...

Re: Wanted Magnum 8 or later

Hi Nessa Sorry I am new to the CVRDA and so can you give me the name of the club in Hunts. So far it seems 2 votes to Roadford on June 7th 8th. This is a definite offer 2 votes for Bilthfield ( I also think Lyndon and Ian suggested this club). Any other suggestions out there ? Or definite preference...

Re: Wanted Magnum 8 or later

Sorry Rupert I didn't realise that you were Commodore. Just to recap. A Moth only event for all Lowriders To run alongside an existing CVRDA event BUT Not an official CVRDA event as not all the dinghies will qualify To fit in with existing arrangement. So if this is correct can I post an invitation ...

Re: Wanted Magnum 8 or later

Roadford would be ideal but a more central location might be better. I know suggestions were made but a ghastly senior moment has driven them from my mind. The other point is if it is attached to a CVRDA event it might discourage those with two classes of CVRDA dinghy to enter the Moth event. The ma...

Re: Wanted Magnum 8 or later

Hi Ed Your recommendation was very good and I bought the boat some weeks ago and sailed it at Carrick Roads for a couple of days. The trouble is that I haven't stopped there and I now have Magnums 5; 8; 9.9. What Lyndon myself and Ian would like to do next year is try and organise a Moth event. Seve...

Re: 2014 events!

Hi Roger

I'd love to do it too. So as soon as the tide tables for Cumberland Basin are published I'll suggest some dates.

Two are enough but obviously more are welcome.

Cheers Alan
