Re: Clwedog Event 25-27th May

Hello Keith.

Shame not more folk are going to pay you a visit. I really would love to again but it is rather a long way for me now!
Mum and Dad are both doing well down on Hayling.
Best wishes to all at the club

Re: SRPING TRAINING CANCELLED
Just start a local branch - plenty of interest in classic/wooden boats in France, isn't there?
Hello Rupert. Probably up north, but I've never seen wooden dinghies around here. I do'nt think the heat is kind to them. Lots of old plastic 470s, 420s,505s etc ,usually ...

Re: SRPING TRAINING CANCELLED

And I thought it's been a crap weekend here! It's only 11/12c and it's actually been raining. Mum and Dad are driving back to the UK tomorrow, poor souls. I've got a place fixed up for the Dart/Sprint15 and just need to get it out of the garage, do the usual checks and get it down there. Hope to get...

Or they could get Peter to repair it. Sounds as if he's got all the kit.

Re: Where you live

The water centre next door was where I spent a whole week in late 1974 on a sailing course as a 16 year old Cambridgeshire Constabulary Police Cadet. The only time I've ever been paid to sail!! No pressure as I'd already been sailing for 4 years down the road at Wyboston Sailing Club. Long gone.

Re: Where you live

The equivalant in France to British counties are departments and they are very large by Brit standards. Each has a name and an admin number. I live in the north east corner of Aude (11) but if i go a few mins north, i'm in Herault (34) which stretches quite some distance to the north. I've sailed th...

You're not alone. That makes two of us without a Facebook or Titter account. Just cannot see the logic.

Peter... I think you Finns have to be nice to everbody, don't you?. The more hands to help with the pull up the slipway the better?.

Re: Just Checking.....

Well done Jon. Look forward to details and pics. I can take some pics of the hull detail of 1211 for interest as they must have been registered only weeks apart. She's a Peter Crew boat. Well worth getting some decent control lines set up. One of the things that sets the OK miles apart from a certai...

Yes, looks dry but the photos were taken when the trees had leaves. You've had a little bit of rain since then i believe?

Re: Just Checking.....

I think you may have a point Chopperado. There was a stage when interest in the UK had faded away quite a bit and good very boats could be bought for peanuts. Top draw international racing could be had for little money. This was when us die hards were tempted to start collecting them, although i have...

Re: Just Checking.....

I seem to recall that this boat was advertised on the class assoc. site a few months back at about £350. 1915 looks good. But then do'nt they all?. I really must get 1211 out of the garage for a spin. Do'nt be tempted to pull on the downhaul (cunningham in old speak) to get rid of the wringles on th...

Re: Just Checking.....

Welcome to the OK world. I saw 1915 advertised and it certainly seemed good value. There is a huge interest in OKs in the UK at the moment and boats in sound condition are being sold very quickly. Get it along to some CVRDA events as they are usually held on waters that really suit an OK. And they'r...
