Re: Blithfield event 2013

As its all offical I thought I would revive this post. As the Blithfield event is now happening I am keen to get as much of it sorted as possible as, as far as I'm aware this will be the first time we have hosted a classic event. First of all we have two options that are being considered for races. ...

Re: Thames Sailing Club need our help.

I sent my letter of objection to this. Not exactly living up to the Olympic promise and legacy, spoiling the change for people to participate in sports that as a nation we are successful in. Plus I would like to sail there someday. Good to hear its been turned down, let's hope the appeal goes te sam...

Re: Insurance

So if they were recomended by the RYA then I would how that they will be alright should I ever have to claim.

Still not managed to get better than them insuring two boats seperately than others combined.

Re: Varnish

Ok, I now know the boat was redone with 2 pack poly a few years ago sprayed.

Since then any repair has been done with 1 pack poly.

Re: Insurance

Craft insure wont even consider a reduction for the ali rig. Towergate and Mardon have a good price but I dont know what they would be like after a claim. No multiboat either but they are cheaper with the 2 seperately than a combined with others.

Re: Insurance

I'll have to look, sledgehammer is completely ali and will stay that way.

Seventh heaven may end up with a carbon mast for merlin meets.

Multiboat discount sounds like a good idea to me.

Re: Merlin Rocket wanted

Ah well that makes the choice alot easier, Blithfield only opperate a difference for a boat with a Carbon or Aluminium mast, 10 points extra. Which can be a little annoying as a brand new boat with an ali rig would have the same handicap as both of mine which are 30 and 35 years old. However its wor...

Re: Insurance

Looked at Noble last time, got put off by the price. The problem with Merlins is all these carbon mast breakages, the insurance companies just decide the ali one is as likely to break. Not fair on any classic owner I reckon, especially as classic owners are generally more carefull than the plastic o...

Re: Varnish

Just let me know what time, finally found my phone charger after 3 days of my life being on h...
