Re: What class does this sail insignia belong to?

Same thing in france a revival is on a club and a circuit have been created ...3 years ago some chap turned up and bought my DobbelmannDB2 for just 150€ . It had been gathering dust in my garage since 1990 (bought it for 7500 francs - 1000€ back in 1985 and collected quite a few chrome plated pots ...

Re: mirror tiller

I have one that you're welcome to, it may be screwed to a rudder that you would also be welcome to, I'll check.

Where are you based? I'm in E. Anglia but travel a fair bit in the South and South West.

Re: Strippers (the paint removing kind! )

@ dronskiuk Might be worth contacting winders to see if they have any thoughts on this or can at least tell you what the coating is. If nothing is touching it, then it is most probably either an epoxy or a two-pack polyurethane. Sometimes you can find coverings which just will not lift off.....I ha...

Re: Strippers (the paint removing kind! )

Hi Podmeister.... I don't think there is much to panic over here. Yes, a hotairgun and stripper can attack epoxy, but I have only really seen this happen when removing epoxy coatings and varnishes, I think when used as a glue it is just too thick, too hard, and too stuck in place to really be effec...

Re: Greg Gregory

I'm sure that those of you who trawl through the Y&Y website will have seen this, ditto those who populate the MR forum. However, for those who don't, last week saw the sad news that Greg Gregory has died and although he had reached a grand old age of 79, his latter years had been blighted by A...

Re: Contender or similar wanted

I'm after a contender or something similar for some low cost blasting fun. Preferably fibreglass and not more than an hour or two from Bedfordshire. What have you got hiding away guys and girls? http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/109361602/contender-sailing-dinghy.html Nothing to do with me but...

Re: Insurance

Another vote for Noble - I've used them both commercially and personally for about 35 years and they are superb if you have a problem. Jonathan, son of founder Richard, understands dinghies and small yachts and so you get to talk to someone who doesn't think that a Finn is an ingredient for soup. Th...

Re: not an ent, so what is it?

Had a look but owner wasn't around so didn't like to un-lean it from the wall. No visible designer or builder plates but it rang a distant chord (a well-mixed metaphor!) in that I'm sure I saw some of these in Norfolk/Suffolk in the '70s...I could have sworn they were called a 4 -0 something but def...

Re: not an ent, so what is it?

It's local for me - I'm tempted to take a look when I get back on Saturday...in the wilds of Devon currently and collecting a trailer from Emsworth on the way back if that information could help anyone? Not seen the trailer (ebay) but it will be empty and used to take a Scow..no idea which one. Will...

A friend has just bought 308 which has been on Apollo Duck for a few months - I wonder if that's where the rumour comes from? Moving to Norfolk though...arriving Monday - 2 more sleeps :D
