Re: Int 14 #243 photo link - ‘as is’

I agree, Jim. I only made a vague connection but it seems to have been taken as confirmed and I would not go that far. It would be good to see for comparison if any of the other made-in-Malta boats can be seen. If they seem to be very similar that certainly would support your comment. But if they ar...

Re: Int 14 #243

Re: Int 14 #243 photo link - ‘as is’

I was asked for any thoughts on this boat and seeing the Malta boat builders plaque I went through the list from this boat builder. Most are down as designed and build by Vella but the first one is recorded as designed by Morgan Giles and a few features on these photos seemed a bit MGish to me namel...

Re: Events 2021

Certainly looking forward to attending some events...hopefully. I can’t host an event but if all goes to plan there are a couple of vintage sailing events around here (deepest west wales) I can tell you about later. These may not be racing as such but do say if you could be tempted to make the journ...

Re: Does the FB Group support the CVRDA Mission?

Yes the pros and cons mentioned above I agree with. Certainly the forum is not what it used to be but FB does support the CVRDA mission but in a different way now. I, personally, don’t ‘get’ Facebook and don’t sign up to friends and other pages, I dislike so much of it that I sign out of it for week...

Re: Quiz ANSWERS

in desperation i flicked through the dinghy database and found the Illusion for Rupert's non existant boat ...a pint sized yacht if ever there was. Memories at Roadford of Mark D sailing one with His spirited very young daughter popping her head out of the cockpit to grin at everyone....that was lon...

Re: Quiz ANSWERS

I take your point, Jim, but on the other hand Brunel was the engineer for the SWR, thus ,presumably, the use of broad gauge originally; and the GWR funded the construction, not sure if that was completely or not, and it seems the two companies were in partnership before they amalgamated. Brunel the ...
