Re: Hykeham Who's coming?
Hi Sam, We will be there again this year with the motorhome so please count us in for the Salad for the BBQ. We will probably have some extra meat in case Lyndon forgets to bring any? We were thinking of setting off a bit earlier on the Friday so as to miss the evening rush hour in which case we wou...

Re: Roadford Who’s Coming
Hi Alan,
We will be coming down on the Friday in the motorhome towing a Moth and we have booked our usual slot on the campsite so really looking forward to it. Lyndon and I are trying to encourage a few more lowrider Moths to join us so hoping for a decent turn out.
Regards
Ian

Re: Hunts - who is coming?
Another great event at Hunts in spite of the weed and, at times, lack of wind. Thank you to Nessa and Nikki for organising the whole affair including the evening meal at the Dolphin. Some great on the water photos taken by Nikki and posted on Facebook so thanks also for doing that as they help to sh...

Re: Hykeham meeting
Hi Sam, That all sounds good to me and I think that an earlier start on Sunday makes a lot of sense so that those with long distances to travel can get on the road at a reasonable time. We really enjoyed the Hykeham event last year so are looking forward to another trip to Lincoln in August. We have...

Re: Aldeburgh Classic Weekend 2018, June 16th and 17th
The Aldeburgh Classic event was superbly run yet again and Saturday’s testing conditions were very reminiscent of those from two years ago. Long beats against the tide are not exactly the Moth’s forte, but the downwind legs especially in race two were great fun despite being a bit hairy at times! A ...

Re: Aldeburgh Classic Weekend 2018, June 16th and 17th
We will be coming again this year with the Moth behind the motorhome and plan to arrive sometime on the Friday. Looking forward to the event and hoping for a little less wind than we had last time I sailed at Aldeburgh.

Re: sails and fittings
Hello, I may well be interested in some of the items you have unearthed during your clearout. If you have any photos I can let you have my email address or maybe I could come and have a look sometime next month?

Re: Swordfish sailors
I believe that there are still a handful of “swordies” still sailing, but I’m not sure if any are being raced any more. I used to sail them with my Dad out in Malta and remember them being nice to sail especially in a decent bit of breeze. The only UK fleets I know of were at Hornsea, West Riding an...

Re: Proctor 2018 - the search is on
That’s great, I really appreciate you letting me take the boat on your behalf. I will keep in touch so that nearer the time we can arrange a good time for me to come up and collect “Aggie” . I like the idea of being able to set her up here so I can take my time and familiarise myself with the layout...

Re: Proctor 2018 - the search is on
Hi Nessa, As I said before I would love the opportunity to sail “Aggie” at the Proctor event and could potentially team up with Lyndon if you would be happy to let two Moth sailors loose in her? If my retirement plans work out as I hope then I will have finished work before the end of April which wi...

Re: Magnum 8 (Winged, but not foiled moth)needs new home
Hi Ian, The CVRDA lowrider moth group seems to be gaining members at the moment so I think there will definitely be someone interested in the Moth you have described...I might even be tempted myself and you are not too far from me so would be easy to come over and have a look sometime. The hull numb...

Re: 2018 events
Assuming that the original dates that David H mentioned for the Proctor event at Bosham are still correct then Hunts no longer clashes which might prevent a conflict of interests. It would be nice to have some CVRDA representation at Bosham and although I don’t own any Proctor designs I have sailed ...

Re: moth cutting
When my Shelley was built in 1967 it would have had the red M in a blue circle as the sail emblem. In fact the low aspect Anderson Aerosail that came with the boat when I bought her still has that symbol. From memory and in line with what Rupert said earlier, the emblem changed in 1970 together with...

Re: Baltic Wharf
Hi Rod, It’s nice to know that you are following what is going on in the classic/ lowrider moth scene on this side of the pond. Also great to see your CMBA Facebook page so that we can see what is happening over there. As there wasn’t a Europe at Baltic Wharf the handicap issue never arose, but I wo...
