Re: Firefly MKII Centreboard Case

Great that you've decided to continue; this thread has both been inspiration and information (lots of it) in my (far slower) restoration of F2451 Spadger. I too will have to rebuild the centreboard case and have been awaiting the opportunity to go Bristol to visit Robins, and also distracted by rebu...

Early 420s

I'm presently sailing 420 K6383 and trying to find out a bit more about her. The builders plate is Honnor Marine in Totnes. The hull looks very similar to Lanaverre boats of the same period from the link posted by lasertourist http://www.voilesportive.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4309. Did Honnor moul...

Re: Firefly chat back on line.

Michael was kind enough to look up some history of my boat, F2451 Sapdger. Unfortunately I did not save this info and it was lost when the forum went down. Does anyone have a copy of this, I don't want to have to bother Michael by asking him to look it up again.

Cheers, Al

www.voilesportive.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4309 Hope the link works (should do if copied in the browser).. Great, that looks just like my boat, except mine is red (well faded pink really). I guess I will have to bring her home and clean her up now I've seen these pictures. I'm sure mine carried a...

(I'll post a link to a miraculously preserved 1961 420 to compare with a modern one) Do you know much about the history of the 420 class. I am presently sailing an older boat (K6383) which I ought to bring home for a rub down and coat of paint. I'd be interested to know how old she is, could I sail...

Repairing Firefly Centreboard Casing

Hi all, Can anyone give me some advice? The plywood(?) lining of the centreboard case on my firefly is rotten and I want to replace it. Does this involve dismantling the entire assembly or is there an easier way to do it? How is the board casing attached to the hog? Also, hope to be going to Robbins...

Just looking really.... thought others may be interested.

I have already got a firefly in bits in the barn and J17 waiting to take her place. Think I need to sort these before aquiring more boats.

Jolly Boat J17

Hi everyone, I thought it was about time I introduced myself as I've just brought J17 home and I suspect that I'm going to need much advice along the way of restoring her. When I went to collect her I was v. surprised to discover that she actually belonged to my one of my school friends fathers and ...
