Re: One for a brave man.. but curiously rather tempting!

For the brave indeed!!. The Klepper is bit akin to the Bond Bug I think, which was suposed to be more than capable of doing 70mph. The thought of doing 70+mph in a Bond Bug never really appealed to me. But then again... I'm a wimp.

Re: Unique custom made road trailer for sale

Not in the market for a trailer either but just want to say a big hello, Stu. Hope life has been good to you. Do you still have 1958?. I think your old Supernova was up for sale recently too and I wondered then how things were with you.

Re: It's cold outside , and they say don't do it.

A lot of sound advise and tips above. Personally, I would keep the varnish in the house at room temp a good while before applying it rather than warming it up just before. Pour out only enough to do the job. Applying is pretty much the same at the temps talked about if the varnish is at normal room ...

Re: About colour...

Do'nt forget that you can get colour/tinter in tubes from decorator's merchants and probably diy places. You just add a drop at a time of a particular colour/tinter into plain white until your happy with the colour/shade. Can be added to any paint type. Good fun and you get a very personal boat. My ...

Re: Another Enterprise

Well done. I agree with Rubert. Sailing it first is a great idea. There seem to be so many "good intention" projects that just never happen so getting out there will give you inspiration. Hopefully. I'm sure you are joining a whole unseen army of people who will spend this winter beavering...

Re: E110

I think I have the Enterprise Assoc yearbook from 1960 which I think lists the owners of boats, if they were members. This was in the days before data protection etc so has full addresses. I will dig it out and check out 110 and pm you with anything listed.

Re: So which boat should I be looking for?

I bought a new Supernova from the then builder, Mark Giles, in 2002. Loved it and ,at that time, really good value for money. After many years with an OK ,i found it hard work physically to drive upind in gusty conditions but an absolute dream downwind. I did the opens for a few years but these were...

Re: Dulux exterior gloss?

As a Painter and Decorator for over 30 years, can i just add my two penny worth?. Marine gloss has different solvents and solids to house gloss paint. They dry and cure much slower but once cured withstand knocks and scrapes much better than house paint. It is always important to use a good marine p...

Yes ent228,just as you described and also in an Ent. Usually on rainy days in light winds.
They were the very big lines with big pylons. These ones marched across Bedfordshire and into Cambridgeshire. Memories Wyboston S.C 1970 to 1974 in Dad's Ent, no.9677

Re: 1965 OK on the bay

As Rupert points out, OKs have deep cockpits. Surprisingly so. I've played with a Contender and my Dad's Solo in the past and found the booms very low on these. The Solo's huge centreboard casing is a real hurdle to scramble over. Sheeted in hard going up wind in a stiff breeze and the OKs boom is v...
