Remember 'Light Craft' ? I have quite a collection of issues, but looking through them (sad, ain't it) I find that I actually have a lot missing.

If anyone has any they don't want, or want to sell, I'd be grateful for first refusal.

Sombrero was a design by Bob Casson for Mike Souter. It had a pronounced knuckle, a very fine entry, and a wide transom, and it was generally referred to as a Casson, rather than a Sombrero. This design was quite successful, but it spawned a number of other Cassons, such as the Mark 2, which combine...

"Kick all the other boats off the water" - Now, that I like. As it 'appens, we may have a spare weekend next year, as we will not be running the National Championships of the Access classes. Watch this space.

This is No.867, down in the book as designed and built by Souters. No mention of which design, but probably a Casson, which had it's moment of glory, but wasn't really popular.

Chris

Thank you. I'm sorry you were injured. We will certainly take note of what you say. It's timely, too, as we have the Access National Championships for the disabled in September.

Thanks again, I hope you repair quickly.

Thank you for all your kind thoughts. With 23 boats entered, and the resulting possible congestion on the pond, Charles and I now have to think how we develop this event for next year and after. Several thoughts come to mind, from restricting the event to specific classes in the hope that we could g...

OK, noted. I'll see what I can do. Don't knock our Cadets, though. They're better sailors than most of us !!

This is 'booming out' shockcord. It is used on Solos and OK's, as well as Finns, and the purpose is to help hold the boom out on a run in lighter airs. This will enable the helm to heel the boat to windward more securely, and thereby bring the centre of effort of the sail more over the boat. Usually...

Yeah. We'll find spare bods. I'm looking for one at present for Chris. Anyone else ? Tell me now, so I can get at the Cadets on Saturday morning.

We'll find you a crew, one way or another. You were only coming Sunday, does this mean you can do Saturday as well ?

Strictly speaking Fireballs would be outside the limit, but we did make a dispensation for one at the Frensham Frenzy about 4/5 years ago. As it happened it blew old boots, and the poor guy on the trapeze earned his money big time. We would stretch a point again, as we do for Lark 12, but I'd like t...

It will be great to see you, but the IC might be a problem. We have a 16 foot maximum limit, and I think the IC is a tad longer. The Cadet fleet should be at Frensham this weekend, so I predict no shortage of crews.

I can fix you a helm, or a crew, whichever you prefer. Don't worry about the kite, I'll be sailing my old 14 kiteless, too, as it's too fragile to fly.

Regards. see you Saturday.

One slight change to the arrangements, not that it's important, but it gives me another chance to say be there - or be square ! The race on Saturday will start at 2.40, not 2.35. I forgot that we now have a separate start for 2.4Mr Paralympic yachts at 2.35. Temperatures yesterday well into the 90's...
