Well now, I'm half way through making a copy of Mozart's fortepiano, I have another to restore and also a square piano that dates from the year before the Batttle of Traffalgar to restore. (by the way since that's 200 years ago this year do you think we should do a re-enactment at Roadford?) Well yo...

Mark, I'll pass this onto John and Lyn (They're not wired to a computer!)
They have been looking for an early merlin but preferably an old Holt ('cos they like mine.) But they could well be interested.

Many thanks, Ed for a bit of fun over Christmas. (though lois did shout up " don't be boring, come and talk to us" a couple of times!) I'm thinking of putting a short quiz together for the shearwater event. Probably in the pub/meal on Saturday evening, which is also our Spring Social. Grou...

Somewhere this thread started about Rupert asking about race assistants at Roadford...I think.... I don't mind doing the computer bit again. (having just about worked it out last year with plenty of guidance from Stu.) Maybe I'll be abit quicker next time. It's such a lovely job! only takes several ...

Will you give me an extra mark for pointing out that it's BeEcher Moore rather than BeAcher? - then I will have at least one point!

Thanks Ed for the quiz - good fun to learn how ignorant one is.

Never mind the limit on length, I suggest a limit on the beam - say 2ft 6"? Last year Rupert called off one bank " water to tack please, oh you're already on the other bank"

Alan, I think the point is the other way round. Several of us didn't have time to finish the lunch and get to the start line. I was at least three minutes late over the line and there were two or three other boats just ahead that didn't have a chance to get there either. In effect we were excluded f...

Someone near Frome has contacted to say he is clearing out and has a Nat12 wooden mast and a couple of others possibly off cadets. There other bits too. 'To a good home'.
I'll find out more and post details later. But let me know if you are after something.

Narrow merlins are great on rivers/inland, but hard work hiking out for a long time. They can be tippy in gusty conditions but not that bad. They have plenty of room for crew and carry weight better than nat12. I have some modern cut sails for 507 (Holt, Riant, 5ft beam) which I use most of the time...
