Not knowing the answers is part of the fun. Finding one is so much more rewarding:).

Otherwise, how about each person having a quiz yardstick?. The quiz will be the same but the handicap arguments should be highly entertaining.

Hi all, I have a Harrier. I checked the transom and it has been sorted somewhere along the way.It really is underpowered as standard. this is why people have been fitting larger phantom rigs. Very wide so lots of righting moment to balance them. As standard, it really needs a F4 to F6 to sail to its...

Rubbish, free chat? I suppose you get what you pay for. I am going back to reading my book about a panda who eats, shoots and leaves.

Hi Ryan, I can scan and email a small silhouete drawing to give you an idea of the shape. You can then work out the approx dimensions from the centreboard casing & pivot. A few cardboard mock ups should get you close.N ot perfect but it would get you on the water. Let me know your email. Best Re...

Hi Ryan,

my books have the Marlin at 3.99m x 1.68m with the mast at 6.4m so maybe. It does look like the picture on:

Hi Rod, I am sure some of the others have libraries on the subject but here is a bit I had bookmarked on the Buc: http://www.buccaneer18.org/articles/BirthOfBucc.txt I occasionally see the odd cat of his for sale. The last was an unusual design with two mono bermudan rigs mounted in parallel, one on...

I particularly like the vague ones....."Boat. 10 - 14 ft long. Belonged to my uncle" as a description and a picture of something lurking under a tarpaulin, taken at night.

They help to pass the time on dark winter evenings :).

The sail has a "W" on it so Wildfire wins the prize :). A bonus point for not being distracted by the special tape measure that so often seems to be used on ebay....

If it is truly 16ft, both the Vulcan and the Wildfire are 9 inches too long.

Maybe a Dodnor 16.

I think we need to see the sail emblem.

Hi David,

On the nail! (another Bristol reference). Yes I'm sorry I missed the latest event. I was unavoidably detained on a scuba diving expedition to the Caribbean. The aim is to actually get to an event next year.

Hi all, the Harrier has been christened "Disco Volante" due to it being nearly as wide as it is long. (Three bonus points for the oldie that can name the provenance of that name:)). Diverging slightly, We did name the house "Beau Lochs" in tribute to alleged Scottish/French ances...
