And remember to take it off as soon as you can - don't leave it till the paint is dry.

Re: FD K9
I think you are right Michael - I just googled for an image having tried and failed to write a description of how it should be rigged. Trust me to find an incorrect one!

A simple kicker lever diagram is here - http://www.apsltd.com/c-1123-holtallend ... lever.aspx
As to how it is used in K9 that in my experience will be a lot of head scratching and re-routing of string......

Re: Dinghy show?
I must get around to going again some year. The last one I went to was in Picketts Lock. I remember seeing a brand new class called the Topper. Those plastic things will never catch on I said to myself.....

Re: Mirror Mirror, on the wall - who is the fairest of them
It is funny how sail numbers stick - our first Mirror was 4405, the second 22116 and the third 54367. I wonder if any of them are still around? Dad drove up to Bells to collect the kit for 22116. He could only go on a Saturday when Bells closed at mid-day. The elderly Hillman Minx he was driving was...

Re: Just Checking.....
It may be worth putting a "wanted" ad on the new facebook dinghy bits for sale group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/dinghies/ - I have found this to be a great way to move on used bits without e-bay costs so I can charge less.

Re: Help! Don't know what boat to go for?
I think I know of a free Kestrel if that would help - unless Nessa decided to have it.... A friend asked me to find a new keeper for her but I haven't heard from him for ages so not sure it is still available but I can find out.

Re: Notable books for reading - for the amateur sailor...
I have three copies of the Twiname book - two of which are on loan at any one time to people wanting to improve their sailing and one which stays firmly at home so I know I haven't lost it.... It is indeed the best racing book I have read (and I have read a lot!). The latest version also gives profi...

Kestrel
Just received the following e-mail.... Hi Graham, my reminder that I have a Kestrel looking for a new berth. Sail No 969 ... I believe it's a Mk II. Not sailed for a season or two. Sails have seen better days. Also with combi trailer. Free to a good home !! The boat is at Kielder and has no cover bu...
Re: Kestrel
If you don't get this one there is one at my club which the owner wants to move on - no reasonable offer refused.... It does have a road trailer but no cover.

Re: Wayfarer hulls and 420....
At present the 420 has no foils, sails trailer or indeed usable rigging. There is a mast boom and hull - but the hull has a few bodged repairs along the keel line and has been standing under trees for a few years so needs a very good scrub. I have not had time to look at it too closely but it is now...

Wayfarer hulls and 420....
Just a long shot but is anyone out there interested in 3 Wayfarer hulls and a 420 hull with mast and boom? I am helping a local scout group clear the end of the yard and these things have emerged......

Re: Northern Area Championships at Kielder
It was indeed a lovely weekend. The Saturday and Sunday were a bit blighted with very low winds but the hospitality and great group of visiting sailors more than made up for the drifting. Unfortunately the only CVRDA eligible entry was Alec the Bar's Flying 15 and he took one look at Sunday mornings...

Wineglass anybody?
A friend has a Wineglass dinghy for sale. The last time I saw it was in pretty decent condition. It had a new cover and standing rigging in 2008 and hasn't really been used since. I am not totally convinced of the roadworthyness of the trailer but there are sails etc with it and it is only £100. I b...
