N1662 - free to good home

I've also placed this on the Boats for sale page, but I guess some people only look there if they're looking for a boat, and might miss this opportunity. Reluctantly, Chippendale Proctor Mk8 National 12 (the one on the 12 website http://www.national12.org/class/Mark%208.htm) must go, as I've lost my...

Proctor Mk8 National 12 - free to good home

Reluctantly, Chippendale Proctor Mk8 National 12 (the one on the 12 website http://www.national12.org/class/Mark%208.htm) must go, as I've lost my storage and acquired a tupperware boat. Fixed & lifting rudders, original Ratsey & Lapthorne terylenes (and a cut down set), 2 Storrar & Bax ...

Re: Duck!

It's on Ebay as well, with more photos. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Wooden-sailing-dingy_W0QQitemZ320275100871QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item320275100871&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318 I'm reluctantly giving up on varnishing in order to spend more time sailing, so a tupperware boat is replacing my Proctor Mk8 Natio...

Re: screws and paint problems

Thanks for the info (and the offer of boats). I'll try the superglue method, as I didn't fancy replacing scores of screws - especially with gold ones.

screws and paint problems

I'm starting to get paint and varnish lifting off the top of many of the screws on my 1959 built Chippendale National 12, with a powdery deposit between the screw and the paint. Where they have been filled, it's lifting the filler as well. Is there a fix for this? I'm contemplating taking it off the...

Re: What is it?

No bid from me - even if Grimsby is just over the Humber. It's too big and not clinker. I do occasionally wonder about getting a cheap Tupperware boat for a year and giving the 12 a full bare wood strip and re-finish, but I don't think this is the one.

"Alarm" is not mentioned in Stevenson's History of the 12s, and at a quick glance doesn't appear to have won any major 12 silverware.
