This one was about Mirror sized but with a pointed bow and almost flat bottom. Sponsored by the obvious, I think she was rather too late into the fray to get anywhere. She was designed in about 1975, I understand, but hope I will be corrected if someone knows better(she seems to miss being in the ea...

If I could have got Proctors and Robbins (and soon Rondar for a centreboard) to give the bits for free I'd have changed the name to one like the 18 footers have... But instead I'll have to change the name to "made me broke" for some such. But I think Kathryn will insist that she remains Sa...

Thanks Alastair!
I confess, Jim, that as a Firefly sailor absolute speed has never been a concern! Cherubs, on the other hand...

There is a thread on the Y&Y forum which discusses this. Might be worth a look. I seem to remember it involved simply taking a GPS out and recording high speeds, but I could be wrong!
BTW, any club want the Frostbite event...? And any helpers for Roadford?!

I vote for Led Zep. I think a timed run would have to forget handicapping (absolute speed is the thing) but maybe we could have minor length catagories for Firefly and 12 sailors, Merlin and peggie sailors, etc. As we would be comparing speeds as well as going for absolutes, we could do it in fairly...

Tee hee! Nappies are roughly as bad as you imagine them to be, though the poo in the pants(Pippa's, not mine) when potty training is worse... BTW, do you think the navy would transport a frigate to Roadford to do the timing? Kathryn and I are hopeing to dump the kids at my parents and do Mayflower i...

While lots of people are looking at the forum, I thought I'd put my fixtures hat on and look into the future! Most of the programme is now set, with events up on the main site. However, there are 2 things (at least!) we need. Firstly, we need a volunteer club (and organizer) to run a winter dinner a...
