Re: Banbury 8th October

Thanks to Pat & Tim and all the Banbury crowd for a great day yesterday. It was Mariusz first time ever sailing and he really enjoyed himself.
He particularly wanted to thank you for your friendly welcome to a total newcomer. I think he may be hooked.

Re: Banbury 8th October

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the offer I have a work colleague coming with me now. He has been asking to sail with me for some time and as it is forecast to be light I thought it would be a good opportunity.

Re: Down to one boat......

The ideal boat is a Hornet, extra long tiller and you can sail single handed from the sliding seat, plenty of room for a crew and symmetric spinnaker.   Funnily enough I have one which with a "bit" of winter maintenance will be the perfect steed. Seriously though, I used t...

Nope I couldn't get on with it either. Mind you I don't seem to b able to get on with any single handers. Maybe I`m just a sociable guy.

Re: Down to one boat......

Nice 14ft Clinker Lymington pram in my dads garden. Its a serious project though. Dad would love to see her go to a good home. Mast sails etc all there but the hull is a bit of a sorry state.

She is a bit weighty though.

Re: Anyone planning going to Bosham?

I`m afraid I have pulled out Michael, I have never floated this particular boat and don't think Bosham would be the right place for the old lady to sink or lose the mast. I am going to have to find a puddle to play on first I think. I agree its a great event but you do need a seaworthy boat and taki...
