Re: Are buoyancy bags repairable??

I've ordered the kit... I guess a bath of hot soapy water is the best way to find the hole(s)

Are buoyancy bags repairable??

My bow bag goes down over a period of about a week... I'm sure this can't be normal, so I assume there's a leak somewhere...

Are they patchable??

Re: Trolley for a vintage 12

Martin... I have an old Bramber trolley which used to hold up a GP 14.. It came with a trailer, which I've modified to carry my N12's trolley.... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/92926908/2015-09-20%2014.25.56.jpg There's a pile of bits with it that used to attach it to the trailer.... If it's an...

Re: Bulkhead

I'm going to put her in the water on Saturday, and see what happens............ There was a lot of water in her when I collected her but the lads who owned her didn't appear to care for her much... she needs to be kept level so both front and rear tanks can drain into the cockpit, and then out of th...

Re: Cherub.

30 years ago I lusted after a Cherub... Of course back then they were only slightly more insane than N12s are now....

I'm kinda glad I bought an N12 and don't have the cash for this!

Bulkhead

This pic clearly show my N12 was build with a full front bulkhead.. http://www.national12.org/blahdocs/uploads/n3214_ebay2_3962.jpg But somewhere along the line, it had an 18" square hole cut in it.. presumably to allow access for hull repair.. It's now got a nasty buoyancy bag stuffed in the b...

Re: Mast fitting removal..

It's got a dangly pole which doesn't use any of those fittings!

I think I'll remove the top halyard block to stop it rattling around, but keep the lower loop...

Mast fitting removal..

My N12 (N3214) has some spurious fittings on the mast... There's what looks like a spinnaker halyard block about a foot about the jib halyard, and a spinnaker pole loop about 18" above the gooseneck... I don't need them, so plan to drill out the rivets and remove them... Should I leave the hole...

He does say in the ad, that the rig is from a different boat... I wouldn't trust that insignia, whatever it is!

Re: What is it?

I've been right through the database, and can't match it...

It's quite a pretty little thing, more of a cruiser than a racer...

And apart from the outside, it looks like he's done a really good repair job...

Re: Centre main.

Nowt wrong with an aft main!

Watching Amy sail her ToY in very light air at Shearwater was funny.. She was sitting forward of the sliding seat, and hence forward of the centre main, to stop the transom dragging...

Tacking was tricky!
