Re: Minisail Sprite for sale on minisail.org.uk

Gavin,

I send a message to Andrew (dronskiuk at yahoo dot com) telling him the problem.
Looks like I don't have the trouble you experience. I'll try to figure out what could be going on.

Re: Nationals 2012.

Still impressed after a weekend of friendliness, hospitality and professionalism from the Bough Beech SC team. Thank you all. And what a great bunch of people you are CVRDA members, it was a weekend not to forget. Here some pictures from our camera: https://picasaweb.google.com/115448792238563310742...

Minisail Sprite for sale on minisail.org.uk

Just in case you missed it; http://minisail.org.uk/?p=670
Could be the best £200 you spend this year, considering what you get in return.
Granted I am biased because I love the boat. But this is off the shelf buy and sail (and transport).

Ronny

Re: Insurance question

Thank you all for the insights. I will get back to my insurance man with some questions like "could you give me that in writing please" and "what if I enter a competition?" and "Mr Bremmer would like one of these". Will contact gjwdirect.co.uk as well. Nessa you are rig...

Insurance question

Following is about insurance so I thought "banter" was a good category choose. I would like to attend the Nationals 2012 (with a wooden Minisail) but there is a detail that I would like to sort out.  There is a clause that states: "You will need to sign to say you have 3rd party boat ...

Re: wood for a traveller bar

Thanks for coming to the rescue John, I was starting to doubt my own knowledge there. There is a practical side effect as well. If you add a layer of glass, the curve of the lamination will be much the same after unclamping. Do the same without glass and the assembly will spring back a lot more. Mea...

Could this image encourage you before fitting a carbon rod? https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-0HdqVuPHu28/TXzc5Yt2I7I/AAAAAAAACoQ/c4qoL35smyo/s640/IMG_0092.JPG What you see is me messing with two strips of 4mm oak and a strip of 160grm2 glass in between bonding with Epoxy (9 clamps involved), not h...

Re: Another Mystery Hull.....

I'd love to see the bottom section of the mast , if the item turns up.
It should fit the narrow slot and the mast would have to be shrouded (I think), though I can't see any shroud tangs.
A lovely and inspiring mystery hull this is.

Re: Pati Catalan?

There is a club a few kilometers from my door that exclusively sails the Patin a Vela: The Nosepasa club ( http://www.patin.be/patin.php North Sea Patin Sailing Association). The boat has developed from a rowing platform (to accompany swimmers) in the beginning of last century into a racing catamara...

Re: extracting broken screws

The spring pin is a fantastic idea. To remove the remains of a headless screw I used to drill 2,5 to 3mm holes round the shaft and mill the remaining wood with the Dremel. It works but the result is a mess and it takes some Zen to clean it up (drill oversize hole, make and fit in a wooden peg, file ...

Re: Winter blues

Some summers ago I went sailing near Bruges (Sint-Pietersplas). When I left the jetty i hadn't noticed anyone else on the water so I wasn't really paying attention to much. Al of a sudden it heard loud screaming, something like "give way, watch out, and some strong language". It were RC sa...

Re: Minisail class association

43kg, i will have to keep reminding myself of that number when i build it. It will certainly ask for some extra selfcontrol because when i build or rebuild i tempt to care more about durability than weight. Weighed my old Sprite this afternoon; she's 55Kg (hull only). Good it's not a proper she we a...
