The other fun effect in rivers is where they are tidal. We have great fun in at Shirehampton SC at the bottom of the Avon trying to avoid the rush of water created by 12 metre tides . It is possible to plane and go backwards at the same time.

7310 total and 1015 to the gooseneck. Round and tapered with an external channel for the sail so I think would be easily modifiable (that is why I picked them up). I want to keep one as I have a cunning plan involving a laser funboat and the Weymouth speedsailing week.

....or if you are on a budget, the needlespars owe me about £20 each. Don't like to make a profit out of fellow enthusiasts so you are welcome to one for that.

I have a couple of very long needlespars on the garage roof that came off something south african apparently (spearhead?). They are in Bristol so let me know if you want measurements or to have a look (from memory they are 7ish metres). We can probably do a little better than £766 :).

I do not think it is a minisail. The bow is too pointy and the way the sides run into the cockpit would be wrong. My money is on a Beachcomber. These were lateen rigged so some information on the "poles" he has should confirm.

Yet another MR. Probably the most sold dinghy type on e-bay. Looks quite nice to me but I know nothing about MRs.

Yes. He could at least have cut the grass!

Still £1 for a mast and boom is pretty good:).

Hi Ed,

I have something that looks home made that used to carry a finn. Looks like it could easily be converted to a base. If you want a photo or to look it over (Bristol) just let me know.

It is a nice shape though. Apart from the tradboat reference, I can find no info on barracudas. Does anyone know anything of the history and why they never made it?

Another ebay challenge for everyone. I for one have no idea what this one is but it looks suited to the less gravitationally challenged anongst us.

4nn shape to be sure but looks very big. May even be a Simoune. Only the (non-eBay) tape measure will tell.

I wanted to be a Toy boy but from the scores, it looks like I turned out to be an Optimist.
