david, I don't think there is much happening for old Finns. There is a very thriving Masters scene, but from what I can see they're all sailing brand new boats. Alan told me he'd tried to muster interest in the class for older boats but with little success. I was wondering about going along but I'd ...

Please note that the details on the events page seem to be stuck on last year. We hope to start at 1030 to 1100 and we plan to have 3 races. The first will be a handicap race, the second will hopefully be a bit of fun and then we'll have a pursuit race. After the race we'll have a barbecue to replen...

Come and join us, if we have wind (and its not very often we don't) we should have a good time. We're hoping to fit three races in with the middle one being a bit of fun and the last being a pursuit race. We've got three Finns in the club now so hopefully they'll all be out together with our four Fi...

I used International 2 pack on my Contender earlier this year. I would advise using a 2 pack undercoat as well to get the best finish, otherwise several top coats are required to get a good gloss. Roller are also recommended but they need to be expensive ones otherwise they break up. Finishing with ...

Mike and Bryn were the last Olympians I sailed against in my last Finn days. Bryn had to put on masses of weight for the Star and ended up quite unfit because of it. If he exercised the weight fell off again so he was banned from the gym! Still, they were also the last Olympians with day jobs before...

Directions are fairly simple. Follow the signs to Great Britain and we are where its signposted Baltic Wharf, just 1/4 mile West of Great Britain. There is a good shallow slope slipway, pontoons for rigging your boat and space to leave a trailer, toilets and showers and, as Rupert mentioned, the Cot...

Thanks for the info Alan. I sailed her last weekend and won the race so she certainly sails well, although the really shifty wind gave me a bit of an advantage. I'll bide my time for a good rig and in the meantime get the other bits sorted out like mast rake, toestraps and controls. I've cut the loc...

Thanks Ed. Fairey obviously specialised in making out of class Finns. They built my last one as a special with 4 veneers on the bottom and 3 on the topsides. It was out of class until the rules were changed to allow varying thickness skin for GRP boats to be built. After stripping it down and redeck...
