Re: Tent guy rope style kicker adjuster for Solo wanted

No it is shaped like a figure 8 but extended in the middle to become a classic dog bone shape and flat in section.

Re: nice solo

If the sail number is 2208 as it appears, it was built in 1973.

Tent guy rope style kicker adjuster for Solo wanted

Has anyone got a spare 1960s style, I can best describe it as a tent guy rope rope adjuster that would be suitable for a Solo kicker. Its a flat plate, not sure what it is made of, with a hole at either end. If I can't buy one I will make one if someone can lend me one to copy or send me a photo or ...

Re: Classic Handicaps

I like the idea of a classic handicap certificate for the boat. I am soon going to be the proud owner of a Solo that is equipped with wooden spars and original (50 year old) sail. My intention would be to use the original rig in favourable conditions but to fly a modern rig when the sailing conditio...

Re: Classic Solo wanted

I think I may have struck gold or at the very least a very original Solo with wooden spars and cotton sails.
More details if the deal comes off,

Classic Solo wanted

Hi all, I already own a 'modern' Solo which is far too young for classic boat events but ideal for club racing and general sailing. I am now looking for an old Solo, max three digit sail number (pre 1965) to restore for classic racing. Ideally as original as possible and in restorable condition. I d...

Reproofing boat cover

I have a very sound, well fitting cover for my Solo but it is a bit grubby and seems to let water penetrate during heavy rain. The canvas also seems to soak up the water and stays wet. I have seen that there are many reproofing products advertised but can anyone recommend products that they have use...

Re: Something a little different

Does it have a PY rating, I think it could be a good laugh and worth the start price just for the wood.

Thats nice to hear, I was tempted as it looked a nice boat. I was watching it and that would explain why it has disappeared.

Re: Newbie needs help to choose a single hander.

All the old boats advertised seem to be without trailers so I went out looking to buy a trailer but came home with a lovely wooden Solo and a combi-trailer, 1984 build it was advertised as but I knew that it was later than that before I went to look. Oops its not CVDRA qualifying by seven years! Sti...
