Re: ent 2426 hog & keel

I have never heard of that being done. An Enterprise hog is in the order of 12 feet long . Ply is 8 feet therefore would need to be scarfed at some point and would leave a lot of exposed end grain. I certainly wouldn't even consider it

Re: ent 2426 hog & keel

Looks nice BUT weighs tons , hard as hell, difficult to work, complex grain making planning up more difficult than it should be and doesn't always take glue as well as it might and the good stuff if horrifically expensive. Utile is only slightly better but always takes the glue Do bare in mind that ...

Re: ent 2426 hog & keel

Measure the ones you take out and go back at the same size or nothing will fit properly. The hog has a taper in it and it is important you get it in the right place. The keel measurements are covered by the rules available from the Enterprise Association or on the measurement form if it is on line. ...

Re: Paul Elvstrom RIP

One of the true greats. A sportsman who took the time to answer an eleven year old's questions at the 1963 Earls Court Boat Show and gave advice I have never forgotten.

Re: Fireball spinnakers and a jib - anyone have any interest

I don't see why not although its not an avenue I would be keen to go down. It works on Swordfish which is pretty much the same thing. Under no circumstances let the Albacore association get wind of this or they will send a hit squad round

Re: Fireball spinnakers and a jib - anyone have any interest

We tried a Scorpion brolly on a Miracle a few years ago. That was quite exciting. It would have been better if either of had any idea what we were doing!

The proposed date would be late June early July sailed over 2 days to include HSC club racing on the Sunday. Hykeham is just south of Lincoln with its many attractions ( I was told to put that!) ...
