Re: Varnish over Deks Olje #1

i once used D1 and D2 on an edwardian punt. I agree that D2 is soft etc as it soon showed problems. i sure another proper varnish will work ove D1 as long as sufficient time is left between the two. l have used linseed and (real) turpentine, half and half, since then followed by varnish and can say ...

Re: Caption reads:

we have a very similar photo of us sailing Iska, Merlin 6 right in front of parliament during one of the Tideway races about 12 years ago. Somewhere on the pathe news website you can find a video of an early tideway race. worth finding for the BBC style commentary.

Classic Boat dec. 1989

Does anyone have a copy of Classic Boat November/December 1989?
I am after a copy of an article in it by John Leather on the International Twelves. A scan or good photo would do.

Re: Zenith - Swedish B Class.

Glad to hear that Zenith is under way again, it always seems hard to pick up a project after a long gap. There is a Sven Thorell connection ( a loose one) to the boat I am restoring at the West Wales Maritime Heritage Museum here in Pembroke Dock after our move. It is an International twelve foot po...

i doubt if Jack Holt would have ever had a copy of each certificate anyway. His daughter lives in Canada I think.
I would contact the RYA as they may have records.

early international 12 foot

Having moved to Pembroke Dock in deepest west Wales i have been volunteering at a local maritime museum and have been set to work restoring an 'International 12 foot' dinghy . It dates before the 1928 Olympics, when the international 12 was the single handed Olympic boat, and has a direct connection...

As said above 'what a great event'. Re: Falling Attendance at CVRDA Rallys

yes house move is my our main excuse. So far this year Clywedog has been our only time on the water at all this year, but we will be at Roadford. We now live three hours drive west of the Severn bridge on the M4 so any journey is long. For the last nineteen years we have done as many events as we ha...

Im just waiting to hear from them. the...
