Graham
If you can't launch a fifteen at Hunts you will be very welcome at Aldeburgh the following weekend where we may have up to 10 FF's sailing in our Classic Weekend

Re: 2018 events

Re Aldeburgh, there will be no club racing over the weekend to clash with the classics, however we have added The Dragon Classic and Vintage Championship to the event. Thanks to Matt of Demon Yachts/Aldeburgh Boatyard, he has been able to persuade the Dragons to join us, so there should be some fant...

Re: 2018 events

Hunts moving to the 8/9 is perfect as there will only be the week between it and Aldeburgh, all welcome to bring boats over from Hunts and leave them in the AYC dinghy park for the week. We could arrange a cruise up river on the Friday

Re: Bosham Proctor event.

David
I know that AYC would be happy to step into the breech and add an extra start (if needed) and/or add a sail past on the Saturday evening for the Proctor designs

Re: Bosham Proctor event.

David
Would you like to incorporate the Proctor event within the Aldeburgh Classics weekend 16/17th June? Plenty of room on the river and no need to sail any distance to the start line

Re: TV series coming soon

Wasn't the first class in the northwest the Southport Star? which when the channel to Southport silted moved across to the Dee and became the West Kirby Star, Think the Seabird Half Rater also originated in Southport. Most of the Mersey classes still make the annual trip to the Menai Straits to join...

Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection

Is anyone going to Eyemouth to view? If so could they report on the condition of E1 which appears to have suffered since it was displayed at Ally Pally, I must admit a bid of £400 doesn't meet the reserve. What will happen to the boats that don't meet the reserve? Will they be re-offered to the high...

Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection

I think they tried to sell it at an auction in Beale looking for £2500, that failed. Looking at pics on auction website it is not in the condition it was in when it went to Ally Pally

Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection

Enterprise No1 was there, I collected it from the Polytunnel for the Ally Pally exhibition of Holt boats 5(?) years ago. The Enterprise Association thought they owned it but it turns out had given not loaned it to the Exeter Maritime Museum. I would be very interested it trying to save that boat
