Nick Aubrey sold Uptown Girl, a modified NSM2, to me in order to fund ROTS "Riders on the Storm". Both boats were weight carriers as he and Chris Rutter, his crew, were both 'big boys'. They were also glorious examples of Guy Winders best work (the boats that is, not Nick and Chris). Along...

Charles took the words out of my mouth. I've sailed Solos for the last 20 odd years, and I don't consider myself the decrepit old fart that Rupert obviously thinks Solos sailors are. What that makes Mirror sailors I shudder to think. The Solo is a slowish boat undoubtedly, but that just makes for cl...

On JPA's note about CVRDA boats. There was a boat called a Bullet some years ago. As I recall it was a sort of minature Fireball. I don't remember the method exactly, but this had a feature whereby the buoyancy tanks converted into water-shedding conduits when the boat was brought upright. Maybe som...

Well said, that man. When we were deciding on boats for the first CVRDA event at Frensham, we had some difficulty over Larks. The club was very instrumental in getting the class off the ground in it's early days, and Lark 12 was, and is, a regular turnout. We decided that the spirit of the law was m...

There is an old Finn advertised on Boats and Outboards. I went to look at it, but considered it past saving. However, the Needlespar mast looked OK. It might be worth following up.

Actually, the water at Frensham is large enough for IC's. but 17'is over the limit we are allowed, which is 16', but if I really thought a couple of IC's were coming I guess we could stretch a point !

Rupert. You bet your ass ! I've already been tempted by several, but need the space first - hence the need for the Finn to go. So far only timewasters.

Yes, to make way for the next project, THE Finn (K60) is for sale. Probably the best Fairey Finn in the country, the boat comes complete with a good combi, excellent cover, three sails (including one reasonable North), two rudders, one fixed - one lifting, and all ready to go. This boat has been com...
