Re: Meeting at Hykeham anyone?

I don't think that there would be that much support from the club mainly because of a shortage of age qualifying boats The vintage National 12 people seemed interested when I spoke to them in the summer but I am unclear how many they could muster. The club are keen to try something a bit different d...

Meeting at Hykeham anyone?

Hykeham Sailing is about 5 miles south of Lincoln city centre and sails on a disused gravel pit of about 120 acres. Would anyone be interested in supporting a CVRDA event possibly with the vintage National 12 next season ,2016, assuming we can find a suitable date?

    Re: E110

They have been absolutely hopeless and uninterested EVERY time I have enquired about Albacores up to and including getting the details wrong on the certificate of a brand new boat, About as much use as an ash tray on a motorbike!! If the Enterprise Association cant find details I doubt if there are ...

    Re: E110

The other option is the RYA who tend to be worse than useless at this sort of thing. Their standard answer is " Sorry we have no record" although to be fair this boat was built before the RYA took control. It is also quite possible that the boat was never measured in the first place. Many ...

    Re: Dinghy mast raising

I wouldn't normally recommend standing in the boat on land but needs must when the devil drives. The enterprise is peculiar in its lack of support for the mast and the method I suggested certainly works ( for me at least) when on my own. 2 people make it a doddle but that wasn't the question.

    Re: Dinghy mast raising

Attach a long line (bit of string) to the forestay. Lay the mast along the boat with the heel next to the mast step and the masthead over the back of the boat. Attach the shrouds to the chain plates and thread the long bit of string through the bow fitting and lead it back to the mast step via the j...

I have known Dave Butler for years and you wont meet a more helpful or honest guy anywhere. Give him a call and he will tell you all he can.

    Re: Cvrda goodies and stuff

I don't like boat stickers so would prefer a car/camper sticker where more people would see it any way. Where clothing is concerned I would pay a reasonable price for a usable product. My experience of printed tee shirts is that they are unpleasant on very hot days and with my laundry skills they do...

    Re: Roadford Nationals important

Following Chris's earlier post can I offer " Roadford, A view from a medium blue Albacore" The trip from Lincoln is best glossed over. I wasn't aware that the M5 is in fact a car park for about 30 miles of its length. When we did finally arrive it was nice to be greeted by friends from pre...
