Re: What type of Merlin Rocket is 1149?

Hello Tim.
According to my 2009 copy of the year book, 1149 is a Proctor XII built by Bob Hoare in 1960 and called Euphoria.

Re: Mast positioning

A Contender rig then Rupert?. Could not agree more about the Laser rig. Ghastly!. The pressures on the bottom mast bearing on an unstayed set up can be quite something.

Interesting. Only the one photo but it does not appear to be your usual Seamark Nunn offering in grp.

Clywedog S.C.& Mac Price

Keith, Ken and other members who perhaps remember him may want to know that former member Mac Price has died peacefully aged 83. He joined Clywedog after a 20 year break from sailing and had a great time sailing his Solo with you before moving to the south coast about 10 years ago. He also attended ...

Re: ok wanted

Good to see that you have had quite a response on the OK forum. I had a feeling somebody would know her. If they are right and she is 1886, then it looks as though I was wrong when I thought that she is NOT an O'Donnell. Certainly differs a little from the 1980's hulls. Very interesting. I would be ...

Re: Looks Like a British Moth?

And a MK2 Granada under the bush in the background?. I never owned one but used to use my brother's. Loved it and a bit of a change from my Triumph 2000.

Re: ok wanted

Errm. I've no idea of the builder. I do not think it is an O'Donnell as the ones that i've seen/owned that have glass bulkheads had rebates in the moulding into which the inspection hatches were fitted. The centreboard does not look right to be an O'Donnell either. The toe straps are very french in ...

Re: ok wanted

OKs must have their sail number cut either(depending on their age) into the hog, centreboard casing or forward cockpit bulkhead to be able to measure to class rules. Stands to reason that if there is no sail number anywhere then it probably has not been measured. I do not know where Don O'Donnell go...

Re: ok wanted

Put a wanted on the class assoc site too. It's free. You should get a sound usable OK within this budget. 1959, a very interesting and famous boat, is for sale in Staffordshire The OK is a great boat and well worth the effort of searching out a good 'un. Best of luck http://www.okdinghy.co.uk/boatli...

Re: OK for someone?

This is a very famous OK with an interesting start to life and subsequent history. Sail no 1774. One of Don O'Donnell's quickest boats.
Unfortunately I have enough OKs for now.

Re: ENTERPRISE No.878 emerges blinking into the light

Great story Dave. Look forward to further instalments. Learned to sail with Dad in an Ent (9677) when I was 12. Stick with the Osprey. I only ever twice sailed, one back in the 70's. We went way out to sea off the Isle of Wight. Lovely boats. Equivalent to a ride in a P5 in many ways. I have a very ...

420 dinghy. Number 417

Hello All. I believe there are some 420 fans in the CVRDA family. This must surely be a bit special? Comes with the trailer so a quick hop over to collect a piece of French nautical history should be a breeze. Came across it whilst window shopping. And I mean window shopping only, as I really wish I...
